Al is the ****** that believes in bend don't break. Al is the one that has this team this unprepared and poorly coached after 3 years. Al is the one that most likely won't make it to an ACCCG after 3 years. If you are gonna blame anyone blame Al Golden. We all like the guy, but facts are facts and the team you see trotted out week in and week out is a poorly coached poorly prepared team and that rests on the head coaches head.

dude its goldens scheme. what don't u understand. he ran it as a coordinator at UVA and as a HC at temple. a new dc will implement his scheme until he decides to change the scheme himself.

AL Golden is the CEO, he's not going to call plays on defense, so if he fires D'onofrio then that would automatically mean a change in Defensive philosophy if he hires a new DC.
 
Bend but don't break is a great slogan for a condom company but it doesn't fly in big time college football.

he ran the same system his entire coaching career. i don't think he's just change what he believes in all of the sudden. i hope he does change the scheme tho bc this **** is retarded. oh VT just scored again

I agree with this.

I like Al but it baffles me that he thinks this **** works. Baffles me that Cornelius and Highsmith are out there all the time. Either that's a recruiting failure, coaching failure or both. Neither player should see the field for a Miami defense.
 
Beyond the "Bend don't break" S***, how many times did VT run that stupid delay drag route and not once did we bump that man off of his route. Also, it seems that the check down back out of the backfield is always open. Week after week he is out coached and he calls plays with no cojones. We can't get pressure with our 4 man D-line so how about some creativity with our blitz packages. Not once have I seen a corner blitz from this team. The excuses of "we don't have the players for his scheme" or "we aren't talented enough are Bullsh*t. Use that for FSU because they are truly more talented, but when Wake, UNC, and this crappy VT offense are consistently driving down the field and scoring on you, we have a problem. Nice knowing you Dorito good luck somewhere else next year.
