Or are we really just 4 points better than UNC and 3 better than Wake Forest?

the difference is that Al's teams beat them where Randy's teams lost to them. still not good
 
The funny part is next to no one picked us to have a start like this without being bashed a homer to begin the season

Enjoy the ride "fans" none of us literally thought we'd play this good to this date and have a top 5 matchup potentially with FSU
 
Maybe we need to play a rivalry game every week. Our D especially hasn't been as physical since the Florida game. It's like they played with a completely different level of intensity that game. Hopefully us and FSWHO talk a lot of **** on the field next week because when that was happening in the Florida game, the D as well as the rest of the team battled like soldiers!!!

I don't think we are playing down. It's not an exception; it's a pattern. We have an inconsistent QB, the defense has not pressured the opposing QB in the last two games, and our OL is not the strength many predicted.

Besides Florida where we suppose to lose? and most felt pretty confident against them.
 
I don't think we are the 7th best team in the country

We keep winning which is obviously a positive but they have to play better

You can't use the excuse trap game after you just beat a 1 win unc team the week before in the last minutes

Miami is playing down to competition but at the same time it's hard to go undefeated, especially for a team that hasnt been down that road in YEARs.

It's all a learning experience, enjoy the ride, stop acting like the Crystal Ball was the floor this year.

Miami isnt going to quit or back down against FSU next week or against any team after next week.

Many preseason had us losing to unc on the road... Many had us 5-2 going into FSU

I thought it was just me, but we look extremely slow and stiff on defense at times.

If Wake has to pull out **** that hasnt been seen on film, like the OL split bs, then I would say that we must be a lot closer to 23 points better then Wake then what the final score ended up being.

I don't think it's anything to do with the intensity of the D.

We have a big front 7, rarely miss tackles and guys know their gap assignments. That all points to having a good run D. The UiF game just landed right in our wheelhouse - all they can do is run.

However the pass D is smoke and mirrors. Besides McCord and AQM what other legitimate pass rushers do we have? Howard, Gunter, Crawford is a good trio of corners, but they can't cover everyone. Obviously our S still suck.

When we face teams that like to air it out we really struggle, and will continue to do so until we get new blood on D.
 
Maybe we are playing better than you think.

UNC stomped BC today. I'll take that win as looking better by the day and FSU struggling with BC as telling. We need to stop drinking the FSU kool aid and chill the **** out.

I thought we were really tight this game--played not to lose from both players and coaches. That's not surprising considering that we haven't been good in awhile and now we're ranked 6/7. I do think that as a road team we're just not much better than UNC playing at home. That's obviously a problem considering what's looming, but I just haven't seen evidence to the contrary yet.
