I know a bowl ban was an after thought and many expected that wouldn't be the case as fans on these boards have been talking National championship game or orange bowl at the least.

However until the ncaa (led by someone other than Mark Emmert so he could save face) told our university that penalties were minimal and we could play in the acc championship game and whatever bowl we qualify for, our players were unsure if they would even be able to play for something this year when they rightfully deserved it last year but self imposed.

The timing of the ncaa seemed horrible for us yesterday when we believed penalties might have been harsh because it would have killed motivation before fsu..

Now that additional penalties handed down yesterday were a slap on the wrist, i think the decision came at nearly theperfect timing for us. I think it'll motivate this team to achieve more than anyone expected this season and especially Saturday November 2nd. We now are playing for the same thing FSU is.

This could make for an epic "we're back" game after coming through the ncaa cloud, beating the medias favorite team on national television and being top 4 (probably) in the nation. No game has had a higher magnitude than this game in at least a decade imo.

Like I said in another thread, Wake Forest QB Tanner Price just called in sick for work this Saturday.

I'm not sure that this will have much impact on the team. I hope it does but kinda doubt it.

i see your point and I agree that for the freshman it may not matter. However Denzel, Chick, Green, McDermott, Stephen, Hurns, etc. or anyone else that played hard all last year and earned a spot in the ACC championship game, (possible berth in bcs game, although unlikely)....Only to be told that the University was self imposing and their whole season was meaningless (pretty much, of course it still mattered but you see my point).

Those players will definitely be affected by it in a good way imo... they know what it means to have the post season taken away from them, they are hungry to be in a bowl game and they WILL NOT let some scrub *** team like virginia, Wake Forest, Duke, or Pitt take it from them like in the past.

I know the VT game in '05 was huge, but considering sanctions ending this week essentially and the cloud over us done with, I honestly can't think of a game in the last decade that has meant so much and that could potentially propel miami back into the spotlight of the Nation than this FSU game can do if we Win in front of a national audience during primetime

thats a good point about the upperclassmen. hopefully it has the biggest impact on Morris

I will probably get arrested for doing something lewd if we beat FSU on 11/2
