How often is a player's commitment so solid other schools just give up? For example did teams still try and recruit Duke Johnson in the last couple months? I heard during in-homes from other teams he would just go upstairs

It's not schools giving up on kids that are really committed it's that those kids shut down recruiting.
As long as the kid is listening schools will try.

I think he greeted them and stuff but didn't hear their pitch, that's what I heard

Does that make any sense to you? He had them to his house so he could go upstairs/ignore them? Kids have the option of having people visit or not. These coaches don't just show up at his doorstep like they just so happen to be in the neighborhood.

Duke was never going anywhere. He wore Sebastian on his head after the state championship game. His HS girlfriend was a FSU fan. I don't think he got a phone call his Sr. Year

Duke lived in a 2 floor house in Miami?
