Players not getting better

How many guys have gotten significantly better? This team whether young or old players looks the same as it has the last 5 to 7 years. Guys out of position, missing tackles and looking like overall under developed players.

We all agree there are issues with scheme and philosophy on defense and offense to a lesser extent, but does anyone feel the program as a whole is capable of teaching and developing these players to play in any scheme at this point?

Take Arteie Burns. Prized DB recruit from Miami. In game 13 he is still getting abused like if he's a wide eyed freshman taking the field for the first time. Granted, just a freshman, but he doesn't seem to have taken any significant strides that jump out at you other than his natural athletic talent.

Same with Stacey Coley. Amazing talent and arguably the best player on the team. He does not feel like a guy who has become a more complete receiver where we can go to him outside of a quick screen in space or trying to hit him over the top. I don't feel like he's being morphed into a bona fide number 1 guy at this point.

There are a ton more than those 2 and may be unfair examples given they are freshmen, but also felt that because of their talent level, their growth as football players has not shown through and are some obvious examples. Regards to those 2, I do realize I could be just going off the most recent performance and perception may not be reality. Just how it feels and was hoping to see guys that gifted start to make obvious strides under This staff late in the year.

I just worry that the program that is in place to churn out football players Monday through Friday is an even bigger issue than the coordinating and philosophies we see play out on Saturday's

A far better example is Chick and potentially Howard. Those are the 2 to really watch and use for comparison. Howard is still young, so I'll wait till next year, but I feel like Chick has not improved at all.

Every player looks the same now. And it will be the same thing next year. They will all start running together.

this program has been static for almost a decade. no growth at all through 2.5 regimes. From the 2005 debacle till now...its come full circle to no improvement at multiple levels.

This post is false. Our players have improved and have got better each year.

We have to be honest about UM's situation. Shapiro and the NCAA sanctions (Investigation) were crippling to Miami. I say sanctions because of how the investigation was handled it was equal to a sanction maybe even worse.

A combination of the firing of Randy and his lack of recruiting along with the media and the "death penalty" hype idestroyed our 2010 and 2011 recruiting class.

Go take a look at our 2010 and 2011 recruting class. Golden was hired on December 12, 2010 and was left with a weak committ list for the 2011 class. But go take a look at those two classes and it will show you why UM is struggling. Over 70% of the players in the 2010 (Randys final class) and 2011 class has never played a down, no longer in school or were bust.

I would be surprised if Miami has more than about 63 players who suit up for each game including injured players. Goldens 2012 and 2013 classes are panning out. Those players are making an impact on the field. Generally it takes three solid recruiting classes to build depth. We have two really good recruting classes and the 2014 class is loaded.

TO A POINT, I WILL AGREE WITH MOST OF THIS IN TERMS OF RECRUITING ....BUT HERE'S THE VICIOUS CYCLE OF WHERE FICTION MEETS REALITY.....WHEN CANE FANS STOP BLINDING THEMSELVES WITH *FICTIONAL STARS* AND LABELING ANY RECRUITED SOPHOMORE IN HIGH SCHOOL OUT OF SOUTH FLA AS ROYALTY OR FUTURE NFL STARTERS, THE PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH "REALITY" WHEN PERFORMANCES LIKE LAST NIGHT HIT CENTER STAGE WILL BE MORE MANAGEABLE.....

ON THE FLIP, RECRUITS NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT SIGNING WITH "THE U" DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY GRANT THEM AN NFL CONTRACT......WE NEED TO BUILD DEPTH ON RECRUITING PLAYERS **** BENT IN BRINGING SUCCESS TO "THE U" AND STOP USING IT AS A POTENTIAL NFL SPRING BOARD.....

THE NCAA INVESTIGATION.....THIS TEAM PLAYED WITH MORE PURPOSE, INTENSITY & FOCUS WHILE UNDER THE NCAA CLOUD THAN THEY HAVE SINCE THE BEING CLEARED....THEY PRACTICED & PLAYED LIKE THEY HAD SOMETHING TO PROVE....

BUT HEY, I BET OUR SOUTH BEACH UNIFORM FASHION POLICE ARE HAPPY THIS MORNING..... :ohlord:
