Play action will make a comeback this week

With the attention that Duke will garner from KSU, play-action will indeed make for some big play opportunities. I think with the offense we showed at BC, KSU will have a lot to prepare for (we all know that was rather vanilla). Calling it now...Malcolm Lewis will catch a TD of 40+ yards.

agreed. play action will pull those linebackers up and we'll get our slot guys and TEs behind them. Dorsett's bomb that Morris just barely under threw was the lone play action iirc?

Morris just better get a tiny bit of air underneath the ball to enable the runner to run underneath it - JUST IN CASE he isn't laser sight dead-on. ****. He throws it so low and hard, but if he's off - it's a miss.

Not a football scout, but I thought Steven played the best game of his college career. We had several drops that would have only improved his numbers.

I'll have to see it first. Fisch doesn't like runs in bunches, or power formations, or throwing over the middle. Those are the staples of play action.

This team has not been blown out since Golden, Fisch and D'onofrio arrived. Very strange, almost defying logic, considering our weaknesses. Coaches don't find reason to change dramatically when they are competitive in every game.

I think you wee see more down field passes for sure. I think Al knows that KState will gameplan to take away those quick outs and will open the middle of the field. Just my opinion.

I agree with the OP. I'm even thinking that we will spend at least 1/3 of the game under center, with perhaps 2 TE power sets.

I think you already saw BC paying extra attention to Duke and we used that to our advantage

The set were James lined up a fb for a nice 1st down run.

And on the TD to Lewis the PA to Duke got a few guys jumping over to Duke

I bet we come out in shotgun. Had this game been at home we might have utilized the single back set more, but I expect the noise to be deafening. Our OL will need all the help the spread provides.

And remember, just bc we are in the gun doesn't mean we can't run playaction draw plays.
