2015 Miami Central (FL.) Wide Receiver Devonte Phillips is one of the many powerful offensive players on the Miami Central team. Phillips has his goals for this upcoming year

“My goal is to become a better player by the end of the year, and be one of the top prospects for my year.”

Phillips had a terrific performance during his team’s battle against Booker T, as he helped lead his team back down from sixteen points

“I kept telling my coach that the receivers were open, and when we were down nineteen to three, I told my coach the receivers were open. Then we put Joseph Yearby at quarterback and we practiced with that. He threw the ball five times to me and all five were completions including a touchdown that put us back in the game.”

While the Miami Central receiver is only a sophomore, he is still keeping up with the recruiting process.

“It’s going good right now, I have five offers. Florida, FSU, Clemson, Alabama and The U.”

Phillips has interest in Miami, stating that he grew up a fan.

“They have been a team I grew up liking since I was little.”

Phillips is aware that Miami is in pursuit of 2014 Runningback Dalvin Cooke, and said if Cooke were to go to Miami it would have an effect on him.

“Yeah it would have an effect on me, because I know they would have a great running back there and He always push me, so he would push me to do what I have to do.”

the 2015 prospect has taken notice of Miami’s play as of recent and really likes what he see’s in the passing game.

“I like their, how they pass the ball, How they run the ball and pass and don’t do too much of one.”

Phillips compares the Hurricanes to his team, as two teams trying to get there reputation back.

“They are trying to get there reputation back just like we are. Trying to be a better team.”

While Phillips’ doesn’t have a decision set in mind yet, he does know what he is looking for.
“I want the school to make me feel good, I want to have of family feel, so I can feel comfortable and safe and I want a school’s classes to fit me.”
