Pete: Dead Period Shananigans

Since the dead period started we have been trending down for both AH OL, Hartley recommit, Jon Ford flaking. Odd all this is happening when coaches aren't allowed to speak with players. Your thoughts on what's going on? Something smells fishy

If I had to guess, Petes source is on staff and he is overly optimistic on a lot of things. I don't think we are trending down. I think we never had the realistic picture.

They're allowed to talk to players all they want it jist cant be in person. So this is when the snakes come out and all lies starting happening. Like the promises that all of a sudden FSU is going to change there offense for a 3* tight end.

I think its more people on those pay sites need something to write. all last year it was Richards was a sure thing to bama Miami had no shot. Miami was gonna lost joe Jackson , Miami was gonna lose all 3 lbs recruits. god this happens every year and every year the majority of the dead period stories are dead wrong

we had no shot with chad Thomas a couple years ago , golden has this fan base in such a loser mode. grow a pair and wait for signing day. so much angst over things that haven't happened.

You guys are too much. Just let it play out. We may lose a couple but we are also going to be surprised in a good way also. The staff is consumed with recruiting now. They have things under control. That's what they get the big bucks for.

Yes they have things under control . Rumph is about to lock down south Fl . I feel so much better

I think maybe this staff should have made a bigger push for recruits to sign Financial Aid papers. Not sure if theres a limit to how many can sign them, but we shoulda got a lot more to do it if we could have.

they only matter to the school. kids can sign them but they aren't binding. its only binding to the school, only the nli on national signing day is binding to the players. signing more kids and lost more could also lead to other issues. I believe signing a bunch of players who go elsewhere can lead to ncaa issues. I may be wrong on that. there is a reason coaches usually only sign those for kids they are sure are coming to there school though

Yeah I understand how they are binding. I also know it allows the coaches to talk about the players publicly and allows the coaches to have contact with the recruits throughout the dead period. Something that is pretty important.
