Our top guys, as I'm reading seem to be some order of Bostwick, Bryant, and Bain?

Liklihood of all three being 'Canes come February?
Thoughts on each as a prospect?
Any other DT names that are catching wind during Golden Camp?
That Senat kid on the outside looking in?

Good thread. The lifeblood of our defense needs to come from the big boys up front and this is the year we are looking to clean up.

You know it's a good sign when solid players like Senat and Calloway are seemingly on the back burner.

This is another guy (most likely a longshot but still) that has been mentioned a few times as well. Bakas brought him up the other day too and he looks like a guy the staff really likes. Getting him off the west coast will obviously be tough but you never know.

I still think Pagano ends up here. He's got family here and damnit I just want a Samoan.

Talk to me about why you feel that way. Is it more than just family?

He is a fuggin beast though. Huge kid and not fat at all. He is definitely out seeing the entire country so that's a good sign concerning distance.

He did say LSU was his #1 school but he has a lot of visits to take.

I won't even lie, I know literally nothing. I just want him here, and I'm doing some positive thinking. Deal with it.

You need not say more, KikeBeard...Samoan is all I need to know.

Keith Bryant- solid to Miami, despite other reports. He has visited a lot of top schools, but Miami has always been where his heart is and he appreciates that we were the first big school to offer and always remembers that. On the field, his production is through the roof and he is explosive. He may be a little undersized height-wise, but makes up for it in quickness and strength.

Maquedius Bain- the top DT on Miami's board. Freak athlete who is a basketball player and still raw on the football field. Great footwork and quickness. Still has a lot of room to grow in his frame. Currently committed to FSU, but there's a good chance he winds up at Miami. Once he gets the coaching and experience, could be scary.

Jaynard Bostwick- versatile DT that can also play off the edge. Another kid who might need to add some weight, to be a pure DT, but he's the most college ready of these three from a physical standpoint. Miami is his leader right now and I expect him to wind up here.

Deadrin Senat- powerful body, very short, but off the charts strength. Likes Miami a lot, but doesn't have a committable offer at the moment. If one of the other top targets don't come, he might be next in line for an offer

Peter, maybe you already did this but how would you rank them?

Right now just my humble opinion I say:

Bryant
Bostwick
Bain
Senat
Calloway

But as far as potential and ceiling it might be:

Bain
Bostwick
Bryant
Senat
Calloway

Not a knock against any of the 3 B's though. They are all really really good right now and all have worlds of potential. Splitting hairs I think.

Well, Bakas says Bryant is a soft now, and Bain, for some reason, I'm just not buying him making the flip. Call it the PJ Williams syndrome. Just looked at Pagano's offer sheet. Wow!!!! Everybody wants this guy......

He said you have to consider him soft because he is out taking in other schools, not because we have to worry about him going elsewhere.

Right. But my beef with that "soft" assessment is why? Just cuz the kid is competing at camps doesnt make his commitment level less solid. Especially when he has repeatedly stated he's solid and loves Miami.

Like I said to Bakas, i like that the kid is competing, testing himself against other top players across the nation. Basically, I thought it was ridiculous to label the kid a soft verbal because of that.
