I think people just assume kids are playing games at this point.

with our coaching staff, we are in the game now with top local recruits and they now see a reason to stay home and play in front of their families and represent our city. we may not get them all right now, but we are giving them something seriously to think about and that is good and breaking the myth about the U from the Golden/Shalala days. pretty soon, i see us winning 99% of these battles.

Agreed. We aren’t going to the final table short stacked and that’s all you can really hope for sometimes. We’ve got the kind of coach that can win these battles that come down to the final night.

Certainly were the path of least resistance but pot, coke and good old reliable booze played their parts, not to mention stupid concept sold to the women that giving away something of value for free to us male pigs was somehow going to empower them. Women were my drug of choice so I never wasted any of the other stuff on myself -- I graciously saved that for the ladies and limited myself to booze. For me the 70's were the best because I discovered that money and power raised the talent lever you got to choose from and that whole Nam thing put cloud over the 60s.

Let me give you this disclaimer: I don't believe anyone other than the kids and their families (and maybe closest confidants and coaches) actually knows anything at this point.

The only thing I can tell you is as of this past Saturday morning, an American Heritage coach I've known for years told me that we have zero chance with PS2 and he thought Tyson Campbell would not leave Athens without committing to UGA. He told me that if Tyson leaves Athens without committing, then we have a shot. I do not know if Tyson committed to UGA, but based on public information, the AH coach who told me that might be wrong. This flies in the face of what another AH coach told me the week before when he told me that Tyson would be a UGA and UM battle, but he thought it would be close with UGA prevailing.

As for PS2, someone who doesn't care about football or recruiting, but knows about the situation told me that PS2 will pick UM. This person told me that Jason Taylor would become as assistant coach at STA months before that happened.

My opinion regarding PS2 remains the same that when he has to put that pen to paper, he is going to think long and hard about going away from home and his family.

This illustrates perfectly just how little anyone really knows. Wingz just told us an AH coach told him zero chance with Surtain; a couple days ago a different AH coach told Macheau we have a very good shot with Surtain. These are dudes who coached on Surtain’s team.

This is one of those cases where you have to pay attention to actions and family intel more than “insider” stuff. Surtain’s actions tell us he’s interested. And family intel has revealed that Surtain’s family is super close. Based on those two incredibly important factors, I’m officially calling him to UM.
