Is anybody else frustrated that we never seem to challenge the middle of the field? It seems like every pass is throw to the sideline. No crossing routes....no curl routes....no drags or post routes? Very frustrating. :ohlord:

yes, we are way to fast to not attack the middle..problem is morris is so inconsistent that if he sails one ur looking at a turnover.. thats just the reality that coley has to deal with at this point

+1 was just thinking that.
If Wake is defending the run and the deep ball, what is left....underneath seems to be the answer. How about the tight ends?

I'm pretty sure we're a turnover waiting to happen if Morris is throwing the ball over the middle. Apparently Coley realizes this.

All Morris wants to do is show off his arm. TE's need the ball, WR slants, and swing passes to the RB & FB will open up the deep ball. Our passing game sucks, F$U has used a TE more this year than ever. Is it a coincidence that we aren't using the TE, which has historically been a strong point in our passing game, and the fact that Coley is now our OC?

Today the passing game was relagated to fade routes, rollout to te in flat, and comeback throw in the dirt low... we have no confidence in morris right now and it is showing. I would say the playbook has been cut signicantly.. gonna be a struggle to score from here on out... pulling teeth wit fsu since they will have athletes to run with our wr

We've under utilized the TE for the better part of a decade regardless of OC. No one really has an answer as to why we don't attack the middle. Fisch was the same while here. Coleys O looks very similar to what Fisch called and Morris is Morris. The kid still can't scan the field and make progressions properly. ****, he hasn't even planted his hit correctly since Savanna st.

The "why doesn't Coley call passing plays over the middle" myth continues. Open your ******* eyes people.

Coley's system is whack. I don't see ANY of Fisch's concepts remaining.

Fisch ran a lot of trip sets and flooded sides of the field. He also used the entire field to our advantage.
He simplified reads for Morris & often ran middle screens, etc to keep defenses honest.

I'm hoping Don makes a few phone calls in the off season & Coley lands a HC job at FIU.. a few days after signing day.

Morris used the middle of the field a lot last year and it contributed greatly to sustained drives and the success our passing game. He gets all the attention for the big arm, but the intermediate level routes and quick screens combined with our ability to stretch the field is why our passing game worked.

I find it hard to believe that Morris just forgot how to do that, so I feel like playcalling might be the issue. Keep in mind, playcalling is not just what routes to run, but what reads to make and in what order. I just feel like Morris and Coley are not on the same page.
