**** the noles. It's refreshing to see Miami's true little brother mimicking us again. Let's whoop their *** in october and things will finally start to look normal again.

There ain't no camps like miami camps like I've been saying. Just the swag, family bond and of course the alumnis that come through. Can't wait for the season to start.

Richt just gets it. Everything about Miami, he just gets it. It's a darn shame we couldn't have gotten him after butch left instead of 16 years later. I know he wasn't available as he was just hired by Georgia, but he would have been such a better fit at Miami than at Georgia. And about a billion times better at Miami than any of the scrubs we hired.

Imagine the 2001 squad with Mark Richt as HC (and Randy Shannon still DC)...with Richt fresh off coaching that NC game as an OC in 2000.

All the way to 2005... We'd have been a force. Now, with Richt recruiting we wouldn't have had the downfall of the later Coker years. One bad hire changed it all. It's one reason why I cringe every time I hear some of those players run their mouths about failed coaching staffs here, when it was their idea to hire Coker to begin with. While we wouldn't have landed Richt, we could have done SO much better than Coker.

I will never cringe at the players...It hurt in the long run? Whose to tell because NOBODY knows who we would've hired instead of Coker...But in the short term, Coker being there allowed for the greatest football team ever to craft ITSELF into a force, back to back Natty's.

Hiring Barry Alvarez would have been a much better decision than Coker. Do you really think he would have done anything but win the NC with that team? A trained chimp could have won the NC in 2001. Barry probably would have won back to back NC and then picked the next coach. That probably would have been Bret Bielema who keeps the train rolling.

Who's to tell? Any Cane fan with a functional brain, that's who. It's been how long since we were relevant? 2001 is a loooong time ago, and the waterboy could have won a title with that team. Don't forget, we were LUCKY to get through 2001 undefeated because of Larry Coker. Remember the VT game? Bad coaching let VT back in it. BC game? Lucky bounce. How about the Rutgers game in 2002? Trailing RUTGERS going into the 4th. Larry Coker was a disaster of a hire, as was his cheap replacement Randy Shannon. As was Shannon's cheap replacement Al Golden. Barry Alvarez would have won the title with that talent, period. Any GOOD coach would have come in and coached the players to do what they had been doing. Much like Jimmy Johnson, who many feared would try to bring OSU football to UM. No. You don't change a winner into something different. The only thing different from a winner is a loser. There would have been a very long list of coaches that would have jumped at the UM job had we been willing to pay. Instead we went cheap with Coker. Fact is, we were so cheap we probably didn't even need the players to march in and demand Coker. They'd have probably hired him anyway. Proof? We went even cheaper with the next hire. They were not serious about winning, but about pinching pennies. Weird things happen when you open the wallet and hire real coaches. We're all about to witness something great at UM, and it's because you get what you pay for.

If u see fsu replies on twitter dudes saying miami isnt a paradise.......i know **** well he meant theres too many minorities there. I read between those lines.........i do not get why kids want to play for those fans like that. I know there every where but less in the mia

They could copy but no team will ever do what we did this weekend.

1. No team has an alumni full of 1st rounders, pro bowlers and current/future hall of famers like we do.

2. They don't have the amount of top players in there area like we do.

3. They just don't have the swag like we do.
