Considering we won 2 (really 2) with Coker as HC, I think this entire staff would have won a title with those players. Nevin Shapiro and Sean Allen could have coached the 2001 team to a title.

When you have that many horses it doesn't. I think my little nephew could've won with that squad.

As long as he didn't play Buchanon and Rumph 10 yards off the receivers...

which he wouldn't have.

Most importantly, we would've recruited well enough to keep contending. If Golden inherited a great or even just a good team, he would keep the ball rolling. The fact that he is getting recruits considering how irrellevant we've been is amazing IMO.


But like it's already been said many times, Ed Reed was taking care of the defense and Kenny was taking care of the offense. Plus, we already had guys like Wilfork in tow, so no worries about the DL not getting it done.
 
Tommy Moffitt built those mini-monsters. There was a reason Butch fired his long time friend Bill Miller (DC) & brought in Schiano & then Tommy Moffitt.

By Moffitt's 2nd year we were absolutely destroying opponents physically. FSU, Bama, & LSU have the best strength coaches in the business. Time for others to realize that and hire away some of their proteges.

Are not the strength guys at FSU and Bama both proteges of Moffit? I believe Moffit was hired in the spring of 98, while Schiano got here in spring of 99. I think the UCLA game sealed Bill Miller's fate here.
