When was the last time you heard this time of comment after a Canes game?

"They just manhandled us, and out-executed us," Tech linebacker Brandon Watts said after Miami gained 609 yards of total offense and made 30 first downs to the Jackets' 18. "I felt like we weren't prepared."

Fisch must be the goods if he could pull the rug over a veteran Al Grohl in this manner.

Jed is pretty good.

But Groh REALLY sux. One of the most overrated D coordinators ever.

Georgia Tech didn't look well prepared or intense. That's why I'm reluctant to assign too much credit to Morris. I didn't see anything from him that looked markedly different than typical, or that projects well going forward against a good defense.

That looked more like Groh's defense when he arrived at Georgia Tech two years ago and the players were uncertain and tentative. They played off our receivers today when it didn't seem sensible. They rarely blitzed or attempted to rattle Morris. Lewis got hurt on a routine play but I expected Georgia Tech to get physical with our receivers, which didn't happen.

There could have been some overconfidence on defense from Georgia Tech, after blowing out Virginia last week and handling Virginia Tech's offense for the vast majority of the game a few weeks ago. The other option is brilliant scheming from Jedd Fisch. I can't go there because logically it occupies a very low percentage of likelihood. We'll see against Notre Dame.

My one criticism from this game is our inability or reluctance to get in power I when we are in the redzone/ to establish a traditional running offense. Dont get me wrong the sling and gun is fun but sometimes is too fancy for certain situations (i.e., inside the 10/5 yard line and for three straight plays we get in 4 wide..WTF)

First time in a long time I hear something like that about a Miami team.

Yep. And, I think the last drive may be too fresh in some peoples' minds. Yeah the last drive was great, and we put up crazy numbers. But, there were many times where I was left dumbfounded or yelling at the TV after he overthrew someone or rifled it in there out of reach of the receiver. On the drive where we missed the FG (I think on 3rd and goal?), we had 2 receivers lined up to the left, one slanted in and the other ran a short out/fade kind of thing and he really could have hit either one. Instead, the ball sailed over both of them and out of the endzone. Dude needs to relax. The last drive was something special and without going back to watch it I couldn't really tell you why, but more of that needs to happen. Not sure if it was him focusing more, the receivers trying harder, GT being exhausted, or what it was, but it obviously worked to our advantage.
