Kind of a slow week with USF on the schedule and SIAP

I for one, think it's ridiculous that it's coming to this. I thought that EA had contracts with the universities in order to have the universities/players represented? I'm not sure the specifics on it all and I do realize that some of the big time players are the face of NCAA football '14 and previous years, so i'm not sure how that'll end up getting settled when they distribute the money. Anyways, i've read online that their will be a college football game next year, it just won't have EA licensing. I'm interested to see what video game developer is ballsy enough to jump in the middle of this players being compensated for their likeness fiasco taking over college football. What do you guys think?

I think it's hugely significant. The sea change is upon us. The reason EA settled is because the appellate court ruled that it could not hide behind a constitutional defense. It knew at that point it was probably dead to rights. This, the O'Bannon lawsuit, the NCAA's continued capriciousness, etc lead to the inevitable...players are going to compensated in some fashion.

I would think they are taking a break, will be back next year with CFB changing the interface. What appears to be happening is the exposure of how much money is being made off the players by NCAA and others and the inequities of the current situation.

Well that sucks, if I wanted to watch a sport where players are going to be compensated I'd watch the NFL. Part of what makes college football great is that it's an amateur sport.

Leave it up to the courts to ruin a good thing.

Big 10 commish has it right. Let these punks go straight to the NFL if they want to......train, developmental league, whatever. If you think you have a better avenue than college football then take it. If not, shut the **** up. Get your free education, promotion and training from the college game and take your chances in life. If you have a better option, go for it.

Just quit *****ing and play the game you signed up to play. If you don't like it quit or find another hobby. They signed the contract. The punks are the ones *****ing about it.

The amount of opportunities in their local markets after their playing careers isn't considered enough by the average fan.

If they so choose, life in their chosen profession after sports is infinitely more comfortable having played sports at the University.

The focus has been on the elite few, rather than the overwhelming majority that paying college athletes would impact- especially on the women's side.

Free education, free food, perks of campus life, legacy after playing career and notoriety of being a local athlete. The vast majority of these kids are being compensated more than fairly and making rules/procedures for the outliers is not a smart strategy, even if the outliers are the most visible.
