surviving the last two weeks games reminded me of a game in 1988 against Akansas. It was during our 58 game home win streak and the year we got screwed at ND, otherwise we would've won another MNC. The Star player for Arkansas was Steve Atwater, two time All American and who is now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Steve Walsh threw a pass right to Atwater in the end zone and he DROPPED it. After his drop we kicked the game winning Field Goal. We ended up winning 18-16. Our offense was off that day but our defense was incredible.

The Atwater drop is at the 10:30 mark.

Atwater was one of the hardest NFL hitters I remember. Dude would have been targeted out of every game he ever played today.

Fraggle, thanks for that. I can’t say I remember that game. This was one year before Mario got there. I thought for sure Carlos Huerta would cash some checks in the league. Steve Walsh was probably my favorite Hurricane QB of all time. We did kick the go ahead FG with half of the time in the fourth quarter left in the game. We likely would have gotten the ball back even if he had intercepted that pass. Great watch.
