If hypothetically speaking, an ex hurricane great who was a former big east recruiter of the year, and the primary recruiter and devloper of one of the best NFL pass rushers , was let's just say available, what would you do?

Golden, Franklin is looking to leave. Hire kp on staff and when Franklin leaves you have someone naturally gifted and proven wanting to step in.

At this point.. Id take anyone over Uncle Jethro. Id take KP in a heart beat and not get super off topic, but I wouldnt mind seeing the whole defensive staff bounce except Barrow. Franklin is clearly not the answer so far. Before you ppl want to hammer and say "He developed a first rounder at Temple who was a 1 star". That was not the case the guy was only coaching at Temple for 1 season. Have a look at his bio.. he has bounced around year after year excluding Fresno, green bay and UM. The guy cant hold a quality job for long and quite frankly has a **** poor resume.

1991-98 Defensive Line, Fresno State
1999-2000 Interim Defensive Line, UCLA
2000-04 Defensive Line, Green Bay Packers
2005-06 Defensive Line, USC
2006-07 Defensive Line, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2007-08 Defensive Line, Houston Texans
2009-10 Defensive Line, USC
2010 Defensive Line, Temple
2011-13 Defensive Line, Miami

"look what he has to work with" blah blah blah. It is his job to get something going with what we have. im not asking for a miracle, but atleast better DL play. Hopefully he starts pulling his weight bc so far, he has been extremely incapable and has been a liability on the recruiting trail

Forget about pushing one candidate . . . let's get on the big-boy bandwagon and enhance our coaching staff's infrastructure with more support or whatever you want to call these jobs. Bring in KP, if he can't get a job, as player personnel director or whatever to work with Uncle Jethro. Bring in D. Soldinger as an office guy to mentor Coach Brown. Tap into the quality local HS coaches and old Canes like Beard, Bennett, Popovich for support roles that might lead to full-time coaching gigs. Can't hire them all and titles don't matter, but let's catch onto the trend.

Thats a pretty impressive resume. Don't know why you want to run him out of town. No one could make Shayon Green play better.

Unfortunately we dont have the money to catch on to this trend. Lockett, Bennet and Harris all should be on staff already. Bama has 40 player personnel type coaches..no joke!! Saban plucks highschool coaches and has them recruit

Who's to say it's not impressive? Typically impressive if a college coach gets tapped for the NFL. Also impressive if a position coach is decent enough to stay around and land on multiple NFL staffs. Also impressive that USC would re-hire a coach previously on staff.

Hey, gotta spend a little money if want to play with the big boys. But these are entry-level deals and shouldn't end in a bidding war or stretch the budget. Good guess is could hire Bennett, Harris & Lockett as group for less than $400,000. Again, entry level, better pay than HS jobs and chance to get foot in door.

Who? I hate the name abbreviation ****. Just say the last name. It takes a millisecond to just type it out.

So that's the guy who was coaching USF's d line in 2011? Do want.

Wouldnt Bennent be more helpful recruiting for us with where hes at now?

impressive? are you for real

Dont like the fact that he is gone after just one year on most of the jobs. Seems like teams c what he has to offer, dont like and fire him after his first year. IDK but thats what I noticed.

Can't just assume the dude was fired at each job. I'm not sure he was canned at Fresno State to be picked up by UCLA, or fired at UCLA when Green Bay came calling, USC to Bucs, etc. And you know he was not fired from Temple to come here. Take shots at the dude if you like, but the fired all over the place after one year shot is no good.
