Olsen visiting on Thursday

I think he'd be the type of commitment that get's the ball rolling. Get some momentum going.

Don't expect him to do anything until after the summer. Be patient and respectful of the kid and his family even if we have to wait, we're in really good shape.

He would be a huge get for us but im not expecting a committment right now. Just glad we have a shot at him

He will Olsen,Kirkland,Cunningham,Sherit cane commits by the end of spring.

I dunno about Sherit. Seems like he is all Cane but we are slow playing him a little bit. I like him but we probably wont take too many DEs this year so we might wait.

baby Jesus!

:ohlord:...hope he doesnt turn into another kW

Not saying there is no chance Olsen will be a bust, because there is. But, he is already more refined than Kyle Wright.

IMO Wright's biggest weakness was his inability to handle any pressure in the pocket. At the first sight of a pass rush, he would lose focus of his receivers downfield and almost go fetal. Having a good feel in the pocket is an extremely underrated trait for QBs and is extremely important. Wright had the arm, the accuracy, and moderate football intelligence, but IMO that flaw was his doom. If you watch Wright's HS highlight tape, he NEVER had any pressure on him. He obviously had a good team around him and/or didnt play the best competition, so he would have time in the pocket to utilize his great arm to make a lot of plays and look really impressive. (If you recall when Wright was the hyped savior as a freshman and got some garbage time minutes, he would almost always get sacked. People dismissed it at the time, but it proved to be a fatal flaw of his).

Olsen plays on a solid team, but already faces more pressure in his highlight tape then Wright did, and has shown an ability to keep his eyes downfield, move around in the pocket or rolling out and make a play.

Olsen needs to commit when he gets here. QBs usually commit early and stick with their choices so that they can reassure other top talent that "it's ok, come on down", while focusing on their senior season- not "shopping around"/getting stroked until the last minute. If he doesn't pull the trigger???? then he obviousely isn't the "lock" everyone is predicting him to be.....

Read somewhere that Olsen said Miami is his leader. Does anyone know if he is going to the Spring Game?
