Another issue that baffled me. This unit is supposed to be the strength of the team, yet they got pushed around AGAIN. After a good performance in Boston, they regressed. I understand it was an all around horrific team performance, but I felt this unit let the team down the most since its supposed to be a strength. No running space, Morris got pressured more than he should have. Someone here mentioned Bunche as a liability and yesterday we saw why. But most critical to me was the inability to dominate the line when it came to the running game. It prevented us from playing possession ball. That hurt us tremendously.

The Oline was going to be the "strength of the team" the last 5 years, and they get their **** pushed in every year. Thanks to U Tough they have better bench press numbers while getting their **** pushed in. Dline too. Bunch of weight room beasts and still the same on the field pussies we saw with Shannon. I'm fully used to our lines getting dominated by good, not even great, teams.

I don't know. I don't think we really ever were in the game to establish a running game. I think that went out the window once we were down big again. The play calling has been suspect. In particular I remember one call we're Morris did a pitch to the short side that was horrible, then another where he changed the play to a run, came under center and ran the ball right at the strong side, with a safety up....for a loss of course. Just confusing.

On the red zone play where Henderson and Bunche were on the right side, was there any reason that there was so much space between them? Made it impossible for Duke to run behind them.

Great observation, I was baffled by those two plays as well. Morris also stared down his receiver in the flat for a completion and a three yard loss when Duck was open on the opposite side standing there by himself. Ton's of mistakes all around yesterday.

I didn't think the o-line was that bad.

Morris had time most of the day. He basically sacked himself three times yesterday.

We didn't even try to establish a running game. I think we gave up on it too quickly.

Bunche is not a left tackle and McDermott got manhandled. Golden must have them two as his favorites cause if he really played his best five Linder would be at center and someone else would at left tackle!

I've never understood the constant fanbase talk of how good the o-line is / should be in recent years. They are very inconsistent and rarely match up well against good, physical d-lines, especially in the run game. Can never grind out first downs when the defense knows the Canes are going to run. My only guess is all the talk of how big the o-line is. Nevermind our size up front is comparable to most BCS teams.

Agreed.

Bunche has just been awful so far. Not sure why, but was expecting a lot more. Yes, I know he hasn't played much and could potentially develop, but he does not have 1 area of strength so far.

Too be honest they didnt play well against BC... They played the same way as they did against KSU... BC was so unathletic that we were able to utilize our speed on the outside for 2 of Dukes big runs but we were not able to run up the middle at all... James and Clements stats were horrible...

Can't blame the offensive line at all. When a team is down by a lot of points it is no secret to what plays they will run. So the K State defense pretty much T'ed off on us all game. They knew exactly what plays we were going to run.

Based purely on the win? We still couldn't get a push in short yardage. The quick passing game did nothing but make them look good.
