What should UM have done in order to combat Louisville's Dline not getting set in a stance? There must be a exploitable weakness to doing that or else everybody would do it.

We should have gone to quicker snaps, instead we let them jump us.

We just flat out got abused up front from all aspects last night. When morris had time to throw he didn't look too bad but he only had a clean pocket maybe 4 times (I didnt watch the 4Q I was too ****ed). As far as pass pro goes....correct me if im wrong but it looks like we use a 4 man slide protection with a tackle manned up on the end. When the 4 guys slide, they each have a gap and the back checks inside to outside. The "amoeba" D LVille was running on 3rd down confused our guys up front big time and we obviously made no adjustment/had no clue what to do. Again this is just what I took away from it. I blame the loss on the OL as much as I do the D

Not at all knowledgeable about OL tactics, but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn while coaching Optimist Football. I would have the OL gone foot to foot, used two or three tight ends, sometimes unbalanced line, run behind my strongest linemen and also rolled out when passing. I would NOT have my QB and team look to the sidelines before each play and I would NOT have my guard tap the center before the snap!

I'd be interested in what real coaches on here, like Wildcat Defense, would do?

You snap the **** ball and run it down their throats. They have no leverage against that and will end up on their backs.

Alternatively, you can take a seven step drop and get sacked. Whatever flips your switch.

Agree totally. They lost their composure because they didn't know how to react, which led to them losing their technique. Too many guys lost leverage battles because they got upright off the snap looking around when that should be an advantage facing a defense like that.

Its called a pro style offense..get under center settle them down read the Defense and go from there...

there is no adjustment, online just needs to read their keys better (kehoe) u block inside out, who cares where the players line up, do your kickstep, setup, keep your eyes open, and block inside out

All of this.

If I were a reporter, I would have asked about his reasons for having the QB look to the sidelines every play vs grooming the QB to change the play himself or at least have a run/pass option. This "tempro" as Coley calls it, has been slowing down all year and it seemed to be at it slowest in the 3rd Quarter down three scores. Good teams and competent DCs have shut this offense down and AG and Coley never adjust.

Not a coach, but in addition to what Chuckles said, I would have had the OL pass block in close, have Morris 0-step drop, 2-step, 3-step at the most. TE's and eWRs run drags, slants, and other quick routes. louisville's DBs were aggressive, eventually a double move and a pump fake could've opened up some big some big plays.

Individually, we have some really good Olinemen. Yet as a unit, we SUCK at times.....far too often. To me, that is 2 things.

Coaching - Love Kehoe the man, the die hard Cane and the motivator, have always struggled with Kehoe the coach. We got so much better as a unit when Stoutland was here.

Cohesiveness - this constant shuffling of players all year does not work in my opinion. Guys can't gel when the player next to him is always different. It's McDermott at center, then Wheeler. It's Linder at RG, then RT. WTF??

Never understand the offensive line shuffling. Don't know of any other team at any level that does that.

The good offenses, lead by the QB try always to confuse the defenses and make it harder on them to time their blitzing. Why do we give them the clue to perfectly time the blitz, which they have done all night by our guard tapping the center leg for the snap? Is this common tactic? obviously they new about the signal and we did it time after time.
Can someone explain this to me? It is not like we are playing in a hostile very loud stadium that this is the only way to communicate.
