Shows why he wanted to get out of there. Did all the work, Jimbo got all the credit. I'm pretty confident Al knows who he just got. From 28 Dec.

Offensive coordinator James Coley was allowed to be a big boy today and speak to the media, something FSU coach Jimbo Fisher prohibits his assistant coaches from doing during the season. Fisher copies the practice employed by one of his mentors, Alabama coach Nick Saban.
Coley, who spoke during the Orange Bowl-run press conference, hit on several offensive topics, including his role as a coordinator who does not call plays. Fisher handles those duties although he acknowledged late in the season that his plan was to possibly relinquish those duties as his responsibilities expand.
“He’s the head coach, he’s called plays for a long time,” Coley said. “He’s very successful. He knows a lot. He walks into meetings and he’ll bring up stuff that he hasn’t done in a while or stuff people are doing now, he’s done it before, and it’s ongoing, we’re all learning around him.
“He’s got a lot of head coaching duties that he does, and we, especially myself, I try to get all the information to him so when he walks into these meetings it’s very productive and we’re not sitting around there and there’s not a lot of wasting time. His questions get answered right away with regards to schemes and what our opponent is doing. And then during the week I script the practice to the things he wants to see, and I kind of organize the week out for him so that on Saturdays he’s ready to go. It’s worked out well.”
Nobody can argue that point considering the Seminoles are averaging 467 yards and 40 points a game, both third in the ACC. But Coley is a well-respected coach _ and relentless, masterful recruiter _ who is going to have an opportunity to run his own program one day. He was a candidate for the Florida Atlantic job a year ago and reportedly had contact with Florida International recently about its opening.
Coley also was rumored to be headed with former DC Mark Stoops to Kentucky to become the Wildcats OC. Coley, though, appears to be staying put. … for now.
Coley will have other opportunities. But one way for Fisher to extend his stay at FSU would be to hand over the play calling duties sooner rather than later."
