Off season boredom...... just got to thinking about football back in the 80's vs football today, and here are some reasons football back then was better:


1.) Celebrations: You used to be able to spike the ball, do an end zone dance, run out of the tunnel guns blazing, do a dance over the QB after you sacked him. So much more fun. **** the NCAA.


2.) Single bar facemasks: Now we can't laugh at punters anymore.


3.) Bare footed punters: Speaking of punters. And the guy from Denver was missing a toe.


4.) John Madden and his bumbling commentary


5.) People referring to Miami as "Miam-uh"...... haven't heard that one in a while.

Old time football?

OLD time football? The Dlinemen were able at the snap to slap the side of the OLinemans head as hard as they could.

You could flatten a receiver at any point before the ball got within reach. The QB would go back, and find his receivers laying all over the field.

I forget when the salary cap started in the pros, but that's when the game totally changed, for the worst.
