OL commit Demetrius Campbell SR HL

Slightly better athlete than anticipated but lacks pop at the point of attack. Playing some really bad comp in that film. Project to say the least.

Very raw. No leverage and doesn't have the feet to be a tackle.

But his size is a plus. I can see an Anez Cooper type guard here.
Agreed. Based on that tape, he looks guard all the way. More waist bender than knee bender (gives away run plays at times with his stance, sticks his *** in the air), and his lateral slide in pass pro is not good, feet look heavy. Short sets are ok. Comp is poor to tough to tell a lot about him.

Good size, plays nasty....those are the types Mirabal tends to recruit for inside.

Most of the teams his school played are small school 1A classification, but they did play TFA which is loaded with Metro Orlando high school mercenaries

And Campbell's school played Bishop Moore which made the 2A playoffs

The rest of Campbell's comp is suspect.

He’s not moving anyone.

And that level of competition is poor.

It’s really close to signing day, so I doubt he gets his walking papers, but man that’s pretty pedestrian.
He's not moving anyone? You mean anyone that is capable of resisting him, or literally he isn't doing his job and physically moving people? Cause that entire HL is literally pancakes except for pass block reps lol.

Honestly with the exception of a 5star OT every 3 years, we should expect the OTs we recruit to have the size and athleticism and be developmental guys that could be starters year 3+4 (or 4+5 if RS). Idk what this dudes athleticism is like and his competition level doesn't seem high, but IF he is really athletic and given his size, I don't really care too much about the take.

I'll keep saying OLine I really don't care what the star ratings are. When we need a plugin starter I trust Mario will either land a 5star day 1 type like Mauigoa or we get a top transfer. But the fact is OLineman take time to develop.

If UM is taking flyers on developmental olinemen then I wish UM could flip 2025 OU commit Darius Afalava out of Utah. He is more of a Annez Cooper 2.0 than Campbell is.

He looks like Markel Bell in High School. He is huge but don’t think he has the feet for left tackle. He probably plays guard here. I trust Mirabel on o lineman.

Disgusting.

No offense to this young man but how long have we been hearing "just win and they will come?" Well we had a double digit win season and we're outside the top 10 banking on flips and this is all we can muster?

This recruiting class is disappointing. We have seemingly put this whole recruiting class on the portal and it's showing. We put our whole season on Cam and we failed to get it done. I doubt we knock it out of the park in the portal as well, thus we see offers such as this go out.

Will continue to give these guys the benefit of the doubt on any OL prospect. They haven’t earned much, but they’ve earned that. At least this kid has the requisite size. We used to take 6’2 300 pound kids and put them at tackle lol.
