First of all, the win at BC was huge. Folks can say it was a mediocre BC team all they want. What do they think we are? This aint 2001. So big congrats on a big win. Now I am curious to see how we respond up at KSU. I think we will get better as a team all year, or atleast hope we will. Defensively we were pretty bad, but in spite of that we had a few anti-atlanta brave moments, aka, CLUTCH! Not much of the game, but a few clutch plays. Anyways, Im just not sure how we are going to be able to stop anyone this year, let alone Klein from State. I get the sense that we will actually be marginally better this week on first and second downs, but Klein may break our backs and hearts with some third down scrambles. I anticipate State having some very long drives. That does one thing to a defense, but what I really wonder is what it will do to our offense with young skill players? Looking at this game on paper, it should be a shootout. I really liked the way Morris played last week along with those skill guys and OL. The skill players stepped up after KT decided he wasnt going to catch a ball. Anyways, if our young kids on O can stay engaged while the D is on the field, we have a shot. If they get flustered we get blown out in a 59-19 fashion.

I have little expectations for our D to be honest. I really think we are that bad right now. So one of the keys to the game has to be to score more than State. I just think that if we can score more than State we have a good shot at winning. Morris has to get better in order for us to win. He played very well, but he had a let down at the end of the third qtr iirc. That can not happen.

I think each qtr we will see 17-13 or 14-10 type scorings. I think we are too bad defensively and State is too well coached to lose to an undermanned Miami team. State wins and covers the spread. I hope to be wrong.

If our D plays D like we did at BC, and the offense checks out mentally, throws a few picks . . . uh yeah we get taken to the shed. Now the thing there is that applies to almost every team every week. I just happen to think State is a better team than BC, so we have to have the team mentally engaged at all times in all phases if we want to win. And I hope we win!

If we score more than KState isn't it a foregone conclusion that we win? Not sure I followed that correctly. However I just wanted to state that after rewatching last years game I am amazed that we didn't win and win by a larger margin. We dropped an interception and Klein and Huebert (sp) put the ball on the ground 3 TIMES!! Three fumbles in which we recovered none of. Klein also had some fumbles in last weeks game. We have to capitalize on their mistakes this game, and when the ball hits the ground, we have to come up with it. I wasn't really impressed with Klein's passing in the first game especially in the first half and when you put people in his face, he doesn't play particularly well at all a al Oklahoma game last year. We MUST have a pass rush this week or it can lead to a very long game if we can't. I think the keys to the game are capitalizing on loose footballs, sustained pass rush and running out the clock with long drives. Klein is so much better when he gets into rhythm. We have to disrupt that early and often. Oh and for the LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY...DO NOT LET HIM DO A TEBOW GOALLINE PASS AGAIN THIS GAME!!

There's a bulletin for you....

I was being a little facetious with the scoring comments. Tough crowd this morning. I think I did same thing on grassy like 100 times and no one ever caught it or humored me by commenting on it. So thanks for making my day so far!!

Well, it could be read that our offense has a good chance of winning if it scores more than KSU's offense. However, KSU could have defensive or special teams scores that turn the table. Not looking for any argument. I just thought that might have been the angle ... since the straight up reading is obvious.

I remember a few years back when Madden was still commentating he said (probably more than once) "You know, if Denver (I think it was Denver) wants to win, they're going to have to start scoring points." I remember thinking emphatically "NO WAY?!? THEY HAVE TO SCORE TO WIN?!?"

Anyway, I like our chances, but more turmoil doesn't help. We need depth as much as talent, and Robinson's ****ass went full ******. If the others can step up and they play with some unity, I think we get some good stops. Offense keeps pace and scores on most each possession, we're in a good position.

Interdasting game for sure. I'm still not sure what we see from this team tomorrow, but a win here and the season really starts to fall into place.

Wasnt BC missing a few key players on offense against us? A mediocre D holds them to 14 or less. Our D scares the **** out of me; I have to imagine KSU's O is way better than BC's O. ****, Ill be happy if we can "bend, but dont break" and hold them to mostly field goals and cause a few TOs; but I dont see many KSU punts at all.
Our coaches should think about slipping in a surprise onside kick at some point in the game.

I hope our O is ready to score and score often. Should be an exciting game though.

did this cat say that IF we score more than KSU that that gives us a chance to win?

Big, important game for Miami.

Miami has gone on the road OOC pretty often for a major conference team...unfortunately, Miami has lost a lot of them.

A win v. K-State goes a long way to recovery. Not the end of the world if we lose, but it would b a big win.

I'm not necessarily saying I believe this, but I am keeping an open mind. Last year when K State beat us our fans (myself included) were irate and couldn't believe we lost to such a bad team. K State went on to prove that they were actually pretty decent over the course of the season.

The film shows that we had a lot of f' ups against BC on defense, but maybe their offense might prove to be pretty good this year and looking back on our first game, giving up that many yards starts to make a little more sense. Not saying its true, but time will tell, and I remain hopeful that our d isn't quite as bad as it looked.

This game is huge for the program. If we win we are going to grab a top 25 spot. Which for recruiting purposes would be huge. It would show the recruits that with a bunch of freshman getting immediate playing time you can come here and still win while playing extremely early in your career and that you won't have to wait a couple of years to win. I am sure other programs are hitting us with that on the recruiting trail, that we won't be any good for a few years.

I'll take it a step further and say that a win on Saturday gives us a great shot of walking into that Notre Dame game undefeated (worst case 4-1 IMO). Win or lose that Notre Dame game it would be a couple of weeks of good press, postive vibes, and optimistic outlooks regarding this program both from a national and local media perspective. Say whatever you want but this kind of thing matters in the recruiting world.

As soon as I saw the schedule earlier this year this game stood out to me....I still think this game is huge for many reasons....and that's taking into consideration that it's not even a conference game. A win vs K State sets us up for a nice overachieving season with a team full of freshman and sophomores.
