The 2023 WR class down here is as good as any I've ever seen. Legit 10+ power 5 prospects. Congrats to the kid!

I didn't see him play at all last year vs Palmetto. If he did play he didn't make any plays.

7 on 7 is a good way to judge talent but it isn't the end all be all

Let's just pause for a moment to consider, aside from his football skills, have we ever had a player with a name even closely unusual to this young man's?

I'm wondering how his mother came up with it. Surely, it must be derived from something, somewhere.

So, I googled it. I got five pages of hits. They were all a list of webpages talking about Vandrevious Jacobs. There was nothing remotely close, anywhere.

I will be sorely disappointed if he is not on our roster in a few years. I can just see that page in the media guide where they phonetically show how to pronounce odd names of some of our players.

I'll try to listen to the Spanish language broadcast of our games--even though I don't understand Spanish--just to hear how the announcers pronounce it in Spanish.

When coming up with these names, does anyone ever stop and consider what a pain in the *** it will be for them throughout life.?
There's no way he goes by that. It's certainly one of a kind.

Coming from Africa black ppl always have had one of a kind names we didnt have names like Eric

That is incorrect. There are common African names, but parents these days just seem to be tripping over themselves to come up with the next ridiculous name. It isn't unique to any ethnicity, but we have crazy spelling of common names that will be equally problematic in life.
