Had high hopes for McLaughlin. Dude literally disappeared when he got onto campus, don’t think he even went into portal. Just disappeared off the roster last summer.

I had the exact opposite feel for him. I thought he wasn't Miami material and questioned if he was even D1 material, aside from his size. His offer list was kind of weak. What made you feel that way?

He supposedly dominated a Rivals camp and Ferman was gushing about him.

Looking back that should have been a red flag lol.

That kid was never Miami material. Is that the kid that was recruited by Brett Barry? Not sure on the name but he was a horrible OL coach. Of course I can't blame him 100% because he was on Diaz's first year staff with Enos as OC. I don't think Steven Hawking could have figured out a matrix of protections and line calls to compensate for the schizophrenic and arbitrary nature of Enos's offense not to mention the absolutely dreadful state of that OL.

We had a brief resurgence of OL under Stoutland during Golden's tenure. But outside of that and a few guys here and there, we haven't had a quality OL across the board in 20 years until last season. Right now, it feels like we're going stay a Top 10 OL perennially and just reload every year.

I don’t think Stoutland was on Golden’s staff. But yea you’re right
