Did anyone else notice that Jeremy Lewis seemed to be in most of the game? I didn't see Feliciano. Is he hurt? Also, Flowers looks like he is now playing LT.

both played...

Flowers entered the game after another dubmb false start penalty on Bunche.

Flowers should be our starting left tackle. He's more athletic than Bunche on run blocks, pass blocks, and he doesn't make stupid penalties.

Imagine Flowers will start at LT and Bunche at Rt if Hendrrson goes pro next year. Flowers played both sides last night.

Lewis has played a lot this year. Him and Jones development gives me a lot of hope for Briscoe and the other young OL

Wheeler got a lot of run last night too. Are they rotating all these guys in becasue of injuries, or just to keep guys fresh? Can't be great for continuity.

Definitely saw a lot of different names/#s out there on the O Line last night, but I thought they all played pretty darn well. Run blocking still needs to improve significantly, but our depth at O Line looks good. Anyone know if we're in the hunt for any nationally ranked O line talent for this recruiting class. Shore this unit up for years and then we'll be back in a hurry.

Fwiw there is no reason we should not be able to run block well IMO.

Bunche should be a good run blocker, Linder is a 3 year starter, McDermott is fine at C, Feliciano is a 2 year starter and Hendrrson is suppose to be great. I just don't get it.

Part of the problems with the run blocking is that people don't fear our passing game. We are running into 8 man fronts. Until we get more consistency from Morris we will continue to have problems running the ball.

We have a pretty inconsistent backfield to say the least, especially with Duke banged up. Teams have definitely loaded up on the run at times too.

Still though I agree with you. We should be better. Not blaming Kehoe though I think there has been some nice development from some of our guys. These guys have been dominant at times so I think its just a repetition thing. Some groups just take longer to gel I guess.

Good points BigCane. I'm not anti-Morris, but he looks uncomfortable (at a minimum) in the pocket, even given the good pass protection he's getting.

We ran the ball 11 times through 3 quarters. Tough to dominate on the ground when you don't get after it. To be fair, we had short fields in the 1st Q, and Morris was playing very well in the 2nd. Even so.

a big part of it (like others have said) is not committing to the run. once these guys get in a groove they are pretty good run blockers.

I think we are just to predictable at times. If I see that bunch set, pitch to Duke to the short side one more time I'm going to be irrate. That's the only play we run from that set.

When we bring in 2 TE and Hagans we usually run, spread we usually throw. Duke busted the long one out of the spread but then only ran it one more time when Morris kept it. He is a good enough runner to keep the DE honest. Would like to see Fisch mix up his tendencies a little more and stick with the run early

Fwiw I'm disagree that teams load the box vs us.
