They ran 79 plays...no huddle...gave up one sack (Morris' fault) and only substituted Jeremy Lewis for 2 plays.

These guys are in extraordinary shape!!!

Fire Al! Fire Kehoe! Fire Swassey! Fire Fisch!

...we skate

How is BC's D-Line regarded nationally?

My point was the conditioning really...so regardless of how they are rated nationally, the fact they played that many plays in a no huddle and only substituted one player for 2 plays is nuts!

I think those stats say more about Swasey, Golden, Fisch, and the overall attitude of the new crop of players. Jury is still out on Kehoe. I still want to see our o-line get a consistent push in short yardage situations before I change my opinion on him.

It also shows how well they communicate together collectively. That's something u may not want to mess with.

how does kehoe factor in as to whether a 300# guy can push another 300# guy back a few yards? are you implying that the OL's inability to do this is a coaching issue? that Kehoe has not taught the OL the correct technique? that kehoe has not motivated the OL sufficiently? just curious and trying to connect the dots.

I don't think the jury is out on Kehoe at all. He has proven himself before...
The fact that the staff is all on the same sheet of music and the kids buy it is what makes the entire puzzle come together. You can have great athletes and great coaches but with poor work ethic, conditioning and varied motives/goals, things are going to go poorly.

Everything has improved and everyone is in it for the same reasons.

This o-line could be special by the end of the season...

Kehoe as been a part of very national championship the canes have ever won. What more does he have to prove? I just can not get my head around all of the negative outlook on Kehoe. I think he is doing a fine job and I am definitely happy we have him back.

meaningless. means nothing.

Larry Coker has a MNC and I think he effectively proved that he's not a good coach.

Well, we sure didn't have a lot of 7 step drops....but I do agree this seems to be a solid group with some potential to be outstanding. The best thing about the group is no seniors.

That might work if Larry had 5 rings, but obviously he doesnt so therefore that bears no weight in the argument. There is a significant difference between one ring and five.

I'm still concerned what a difficult time we had moving the ball in short yardage situations. There was very little push, if any, for the short yardage running game. As i recall, we failed to convert on a 4th and 1/2 a yard, and it took everything for Eduardo to squeeze in on that one touchdown.

I don't know if this is a kehoe issue, but he has a long history of trotting out underperforming OL. Please don't cite the Nat't title OL, as that is the exception that proves the rule (and w/ a ridiculous amount of talent).

Kehoe has one title as OL coach.

Anyone know how many penalties the linemen got? Holds? False Starts?

I know we had some substitution type penalties and movements but I don't remember the linemen themselves getting whistled much.
