Actually Duke would of scored 60 on us because we would of scored quicker with Duke. Don't kid yourself.
 
Unless Duke played both ways I'm not sure we would have won either game, considering the margins we lost by. Would have had a much better chance of at least being competitive, though.
 
Captain obvious but the offense has gone to **** without him and Dorsett.

We averaged 220 ypg rushing before FSU, 101 post FSU-Duke injury. We run the ball better and we help the defense like NC and Wake games. Specially in the rain game against VT we had 25 yards rushing. So it is quite possible.
 
When Duke had turf toe for 4 games last yr, we lost 3 of them. We play with a lot less confidence without his talents
 
If Duke Johnson didnt play in last years game against Duke University.... Golden wouldve lost that game too.

and I'm not sure how he wouldve saved Miami against VT this year since the defense gifted them the endzone on every scoring drive.
 
Duke would have rushed for 200 plus against Duke and Virginia. Crawford is serviceable, but some of those holes in the last two weeks a great RB takes them to the end zone. With Duke gone, that home run threat is gone. With Dorsett gone, same thing. I don't think Coley gets the ball enough, he's a star.

People don't realize how important he was to our offense. No team respects our run now and it is very obvious. Hence the reason Gus, Edwardo, and Dallas never even got looked at until recently. We need more running backs, we gassed Duke way too fast in games.
 
I don't know how you can just assume we beat either VT or Duke with Duke but I definitely think it would have been closer.

This season will be really tough to swallow if we lose to Pitt but I can live with it otherwise. We lose almost nothing and are bringing in beasts

I don't know if we beat VTech with Duke, but I'm almost positive we beat the Blue Devils with him.

Dallas had some 10-12 yard runs that would've been 40-yard runs by Duke.

Defense was garbage in that game, but we should've hung a 50 burger on them.
 
Duke, don't play defense.
Fully expected the offense to have up and down games during the season. The defense really did not have an "up" type game once Miami hit conference play.
