More talk than substance.

Their defense is very much undersized. They don't have a dominate DL. They make their living creating turnovers for their explosive offense. Using smoke and mirrors with wild all out pressures and pressure looks. I remember watching the Clemson game and seeing Clemson moving the ball at will, but not finishing drives when they crossed the 50. I think they crossed the 50 at least 6 times and only got 1 TD.

When Clemson crossed the 50 the Noles defense became very aggressive sending pressure through every gap. Creating 2nd and very very long. Once the other team was backed up Boyd self destructed.

It is important that Coley does not get too cute in this area of the field and take the points. Naked Bootlegs will get killed with the edge pressure they send.

The pressures and pressure looks actually work to our advantage, IF the Oline can create holes. With most of their defenders on the LOS. The second and third levels of the defense will be open for big runs.

I do not believe their defense is better than UF's. I do not see the same level of size. That's not saying it's going to be easy to just move the ball up and down the field on them. But imo they only dominate 1 stat which is takeaways. When BC protected the ball they had a hard time putting them away.

Lots of running right at them and play action off that......it's a tried and true way of beating teams on the road.

The DL is not the same as the past few years. I'm not worried about the edges at all.

I'm worried about McDermott and Morris. That's it.

I agree. They hide a ton of their mistakes with jailbreak blitzes and changing their defensive front. They blitz their corners a lot which we can exploit. They also like to stay in the nickel package with just two LBs and two safeties. They ask for you to run it on them. Taking advantage of the middle of the field could go a LONG way for us

Sounds like our defense against Florida

Exactly and if they would have gotten at least some points on most of those drives they would have won.

Concerns me because we seem to move the ball we'll at the beginning of drives and then stall as we approach scoring territory.

We really need to capitalize on every scoring opportunity on Saturday.

Fsu is still large in their front telvin and terrence smith isnt going to play in base unit…expect heavy front

The pressure they create comes from blitzing. I'm definitely worried Morris makes quick and correct reads.

I have a feeling if they think Morris is injured and obviously from game film his mobility doesn't look the greatest right now, then they will dial up blitzes early and often

Morris is gonna let it rip. From the way Golden is talking he is giving him license to let it fly and not be gun shy. We should max protect and run 2 and 3 man routes when they blitz. Maybe let Duke release late also.

I thought the same about Wake until a 5'11" 250lb NG caused havoc for the better part of the game.

And sometimes the most obvious answer is the best- you run right at a dude that size, which we didn't really do until the 4th quarter rolled around. The game plan for this one seems straight out of the Joe Gibbs 80s offenses- run, run, run, run, PA deep, PA deep, run, rinse repeat.

While their DL may not be "dominant" as a whole, Timmy Jernigan is a beast and is a dominant DT. Telvin Smith is underized but is very good as is their secondary. Please don't discount the fact that we are facing a VERY good defense.

Two things:

Double moves to take advantage of their over zealous DB's, and the receivers need to understand that when there is a corner blitz, they have to break their route and give Morris an easy throw to pick up yards.

Oh yeah, one more thing - Use the middle of the effin' field!!

They are a good defense,I still think that Florida defense when healthy is much better.Florida got pressure with their d line and that very good secondary behind it. On the other hand the Noles have to blitz, their front 4 can't get there. A good offensive coordinator and a good seasoned Qb could exploit Fsu. I know that we need to run the ball ,but imho Morris is the key to us winning this one.

They are good, but I don't think we should be going into this game thinking we can not move the ball even if we execute. I hate to say it but when healthy that UF defense is hard to get much against even when you execute.
