Nigel Bethel JR

Wait - Why are the Gators up in arms about him? Is he not a good prospect?

He's really good but they are retarded. Maybe because he doesnt have the stars..but the kid is like 6'1-180 and runs sub 4.5 and plays wr as well as db.
Considering how much they suck...hes a steal for them.

Can't be worse than CJ Henderson, based on how he played against Mizzou

This is awesome. Kid wanted to fvck around all summer and wanted to wait until UF had a committable offer for him.

We go out and play lights out on D, show we have the best CB Coach in the country and he decides he wants in.

Gets rejected.

Randy calls to let him know that he's in charge at UF and it's his lucky day. Bam, Gaytor commit.

We do indeed. Rumph may not be much of a salesman, but his results speak for themselves. CB recruits should be lining up to play for him.

This makes me so happy. I really liked him this summer but you mess around and get the offer pulled. Shows how important an offer is and that we are back to the point we can turn these cats that want to play games away.

It also makes me laugh every time I see RS on the sideline in the gators shirt with the clueless look on his face. Don’t miss that!!

They have no idea about recruiting, it would be nice to tell them we turned him down yesterday just to fuq with them

LMAO

"You can come to Miami or get beat by the kids who do......" That is where we are headed.

Sloppy Seconds. He also didn't commit to any coach. New UiF corch doesn't have to take him.

That almost smells of desperation to lock himself up a spot.
He can actually sign early and, assuming the new coach isn't on board yet, they'll be stuck with him. They're blaming Randy.

Everyone is blaming Radio, but did he actually accept this or did the kid 'commit' by announcing it on twitter, but not really having a commitable offer? Don't the kids need some form to sign and fax in for signing day?

The new early signing period is really going to ***** over schools who fire their coaches; it's hard enough to get kids to commit to you when you have until Feb. If kids want to lock themselves into classes by signing earlier, I would imagine the vast majority of schools firing their coaches will not have new ones by mid December.

Wait they got a commit, any commit, and people are ****ed? Like somehow they aren't about to lose anybody they have who's any good at all.
I keep thinking they've hit the bottom of the moran well, but they just keep falling.

I think this kid screwed himself bigtime the last time he was expected to visit and just didn't show up. I don't think he even had a legit reason either. Probably was thinking we'd have an average season and be waiting around when he was done playing the game... Oh boy was he wrong!!!

They should tweek the rule, if your coach gets fired you have the option to get out of the contract. But if you want in the new staff has to honor that.

Newsflash: UF just got a really talented player.

Even if the AH 2 are locked in, there’s no such thing as a zero/sum gain in the world of recruiting South Florida.

1a and 2 talent guys can still play anywhere.

You mean in the case where you sign in the early period and the coach is fired after that, but before the Feb signing? Interesting, I had not thought of that scenario, but I wonder how likely that is as I dont think anyone that is firing their coach waits that long to do it unless they get fired for something not related to on field performance.

What I could see happening though is that you commit in the early period and the coach of the school you committed to gets hired by another school. I could see the argument on both sides for letting the kid reopen his commitment in that scenario.

I like this kid but he had a chance to get on board if i remember correctly and he wasn't returning the love that the coaches were sending out.
I hope this means we have Campbell locked up tho.

Your either a Cane or not, it's obvious he wasn't because the decision was not that difficult. Now he can go be an Owl or whatever!!! This is a message to HS coaches as well...

The point is not that UF got a talented player. Miami fans know he is a talented player.

The point is that UF fans DO NOT KNOW that they got a talented player, and they are savaging the kid and the coach (Randy) when they should be **** grateful that ANYONE would commit to that dumpster fire at this time.

Even more importantly, they think that they just got this kid "because Randy chose him" or because Randy is the captain now. They have no idea that the kid committed to Florida about 10 seconds after Miami said "no".

They are tired of the Randy's lower rated kids that are not panning out mostly at LB.
Shannon accepting a commit as interim could be a PR disaster if the next coach doesn't want Bethel.
I'm sure current commits who play his position(s) are asking what's up also.
