Nick Petit-Frere

I don't see what everyone is so impressed with about this kid. He looked bad all week at the UA practices, and he looked horrible in the game. I mean maybe he has a lot of potential, but im not seeing how y'all think this kid is a starting OT right out the gate

I only saw one person say they thought he was a starter out the gate. I think after this week, that its obvious that he's going to have to adjust to a higher level of competition and get a good bit bigger and stronger before he will contribute for any real program. But watching him last night, he's a very fluid athlete for an o-linemen with a perfect frame for a tackle, and IMHO he will develop into a front line starter a year or two into his college career.

He had a bad game but looked 3x the player Gouraige looked.

Gouraige looked like a DII Olineman. He really did.

as for NPF he will surely be a RS candidate cause 90% of all OL do their first year.Very few can immediately adapt to the speed of CFB...saying that I really think Scaife gets considerable PT his Fr. year.

This kid is a **** monster and by all accounts looked like it all week during practice. He had a rough game. Bottom line is this kid is the prototype LT. Get 30 lbs on him , stick him at LT and you will forget about him because you won't hear his name called when he neutralizes his side of the field. This is the type of kid our OL is missing. Kid is built just like Tyron Smith coming out of high school

Exactly.

Everyone raves about getting the best athletes as DB / WR and we'll 'coach them up', but they're turning their nose up at a guy with NFL LT measurables because he has things to work on?

Nonsense. Sign him, if he wants to come, and see where he is by Fall Camp. We have a job opening at LT.

Were you at the practices because both rivals and 247 said he had a great week and were raving about him.

he looked light in the ***...Like he is a kid 2 years away from seeing the field imo

Agreed, and it surprised me that he, being a little lite, never was able to stop the speed rush. He was a turnstile. I figured at some point pride would kick in and he'd be like f*ck proper technique that ain't working and do what UVA's tackles did against us and just start tackling the defensive ends as they went by.

The All Star weeks matter. Check every guy we signed and go watch them in the all star games. Everything you say about them in those games you can pretty much say that’s what type of player they are.
Trevor darling- solid lineman but gives up sack when beat
Jack Allison- god deep ball struggles intermediate throws
Jeff Thomas- can make big plays but can’t block

People blinded by the rating (that he won't have for long IMO). Petit was probably the thinnest OL there and dude couldn't handle a speed rush. I watched him get be over and over again by different DEs.

Now would I be upset if we signed him? Nah he can always develop but I won't hold my breath considering he a thin OL who can't handle a speed rush and has to put on a good deal of weight. Dude is a guard from what I watched IMO. We need a pure tackle.

actually I'd say he's definitely a tackle prospect. Dudes 6'6" and looks pretty athletic. Plus he DEFINITELY isn't big enough to be a guard. Guards you want to be stockier than tackles. Plus pretty sure this dude has long arms, which is important for tackles.

I guess but he moves like a guard though.
