Trevor Darling has been a utility OL most of his career at UM, playing tackle through his junior year before starting all 13 games at guard in 2017. The former 4-star recruit from Miami Central High School earned All-ACC Honorable Mention for his efforts as a senior.

Though not invited to the NFL combine, Darling did perform at UM's Pro Day in March.

Pre-Draft Measurables

Height: 6'4.5"

Weight: 315 pounds

40 Yard Dash: 5.38 seconds

3-Cone Drill: 7.91 seconds

225 lb Bench Reps: 19

Strengths

Versatility

Darling has played both guard and tackle at UM and that versatility is something that many NFL teams are looking for. Athletically he projects as an OT at the next level, but could also slide inside and perform well.

Good Frame

While certainly not the most physically imposing tackle in the draft, Darling possesses decent measurables and a wide-bodied frame.

Weaknesses

Lack of Athleticism

Though from a size standpoint Darling may project as an OT, he simply does not possess the raw power or foot speed to be a professional tackle. He lacks the flexibility to really get to the next level in the run game and was inconsistent in his pass protection.

Inability to Sustain Blocks

Darling tends to be a leaner and is susceptible to being thrown off balance by stronger defensive linemen. He doesn't always show consistent ability to move laterally and take on blockers in space.

Draft Projection: UDFA

Darling was an effective interior lineman his senior year at Miami, and has experience at both left and right tackle. It wouldn't be surprising for a team to take a flyer on him after the draft, as he has experience and the frame to perform well in the pros. He can get stronger and quicker in a good NFL S&C program. However, his lack of pure athleticism to this point will most likely keep him off the board this weekend.
