Next year qb

Still no Cam Ward out there IMO so this roster will still need a lot of help to make up for his greatness.

I’m higher on Drones than most because I think he would add a nice dynamic here but I totally get the Mateer and Nussmeier takes as well.

If I had to predict right now:
- Bama: Noah Fifita, Arizona
- Auburn: Kaidon Salter, Liberty
- UM: Kyron Drones, VT
- FSU: Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
- UGA: John Mateer, WSU
- LSU: Seth Henigan, Memphis
- USC: Darian Mensah, Tulane

i can see some of these but not Nussmeier to FSU
Why would he go from one bad situation to a worse situation? No oline, no WR, no help, period. He'd be crazy.

I wanna see if dawson is our oc still after this year

I don’t think mateer would be a seamless fit like cam is tho. Not as good of pure drop back passer, its alot of 1 read schemed up plays for him

He does have good arm talent and athleticism tho, maybe dawson can add a qb run element but that doesn’t seem to be what he wants

Nothing other than a gut feeling, but I could see Drones having a really solid year next season despite his limitations as a passer.
Not a criticism of you but are we really trying to justify going from Cam Ward to Kyron Drones? I recognize that Cam is a once in a generation type talent but what makes Drones any better than Emory Williams?

Interesting picks. Only one that makes sense to me is Salter b/c of the freeze connection. I don't see LSU picking a portal guy if they hold on to Underwood. No way they're going to pay that much money for a kid to sit on the bench. Same deal for USC. They have Maiava for another year - they don't really need a portal QB especially since they have a top flight kid coming next year (Longstreet).

I think one team to keep an eye on is Ohio State. Is Sayin going to start or are they going portal shopping again for a one year rental? If they do, Sayin is gone.

Wonder what will happen with UGA's stable since they have Stockton and Rashada waiting.

What am I missing on Nussmeier? Why would he leave LSU? Is he having a bad season or something?

Ahh I got my LSU question answer. So this is over some 5 star QB

He’s a worse passer than Mateer

Saw Johnson play one evening on ESPN and was really impressed with his feel. He stood in the pocket naturally and made passes, but knew when to run the ball and made all the winning plays you expect at QB; clearly the best football player on the field.

Stats won't tell the story on him in year 2 of CFB; at the end of the day you have to project skillsets in our system with our players, and I believe there's a high ceiling for Johnson in the right system.

Mateer is a good player who would elevate the competition in our QB room as well.

Looking forward to seeing what the coaches think.

I've tried watching ksu and, other than long flowing hair, he's just not that good. Athletic sure, but drones is a better product and better match for us.

This is year 2 for Johnson and I think he is scratching the surface of his talent. Drones and Mateer are in year 3, so they aren't at similar stages of development comparatively speaking but we'll see how things play out over time.

Dawson's offense does not and will not change.

What you see is what you get.

He is not going to adapt to Mateer.

We want a new OC who can adapt.

Johnson is a gloried running back. Mateer has a chance to be really good if he can improve his accuracy.
