GREAT kid. Blowing up with offers this spring. Growing up he thought he was better at basketball but still good enough to be competitive at QB at a school like Southlake Carroll. He’s still a very good hooper. Lost starting QB battle to an upperclassman last year and played TE because he was too talented to keep off the field and he looked great. Would have been starting QB this year but sophomore QB (remember the name Quinn Ewers) will be top 3 in the nation for 2022 class and Smith’s a natural at TE.
He will not test elite in the 40. He’s certainly not a straight line blazer compared to these new age guys who are basically jumbo WRs. He high points the ball well, is very smart, moves like an athlete even though he’s not blazing. Great hands - the way he handles the ball you can tell he grew up a point guard. He blocks well even though he’s new to it. Nice kid who has shown flashes of a bully streak at times. He’s got about 20 offers since January, including LSU today... every college that comes by seems to immediately offer him.
