New school, this is what you have to live up to

Our second team picks would outshine Ohio State's first team selections.

I'm not sure if I hate Notre Dame more - or Ohio State - shameless thieves they are - with one of our National Championship trophies in THEIR case!

Torreta won a heisman trophy. He would be our fourth of fifth QB after Kelly, Kosar, Testaverde, and probably Walsh.

Did a All-Time Gator team for sh*ts and giggles.

QB - Wuerffel or Grossman or Tebow
RB - Emmitt Smith
RB - Fred Taylor
WR - Wes Chandler
WR - Percy Harvin
TE - Jordan Reed
OL - Lomas Brown
OL - Mike Pouncey
OL - Maurkice Pouncey
OL - Cooper Carlisle
OL - Max Starks

DE - Jack Youngblood
DE - Jevon Kearse
DT - Gerard Warren
DT - Ellis Johnson
LB - Wilber Marshall
LB - Mike Peterson
LB - David Little
DB - Joe Haden
DB - Lito Sheppard
DB - Reggie Nelson
DB - Louis Oliver

We'd beat this team worse than Savannah State

Would love to see what a 2nd and 3rd team all time great would look like.
Not a OSU fan at all but looking at the OSU board how do you keep Archie off that list.

Their OL selections were weak. Winston and Gonzalez are not starting 5. Particularly because tackle is covered and Searcy can play inside or out. Harrah belongs on it. Your last spot could go to a few guys.

LB I get the hat tip to Vilma. DL needed JB. Buchanon was a reach at CB.
That's because outside of the 2000-2001 teams, Miami never had a team with a great offensive line. We've had occasional studs here and there but even some of the greatest Miami teams had "meh" lines.

*note* I don't know much about the Miami teams pre 1980's so it's possible they had some great lines in the old days but I wasn't even born yet so I wouldn't know much.

An all time Canes list without Horatio Benedict Blades Sr, just doesn't feel right. Even if its limited to 1st rounders & what they did in the NFL. Bennie did go 3rd overall & made the NFL all rookie team, a Pro Bowl & an all pro team.

Ton of good corners from Miami but Phillip Buchanan was awesome when he played here. Electric. On a positive note, your opinion is he was a reach and you could be right. Scary the amount of talent that has come out of this place. The arguments you could have if you put three teams together would be epic. A CIS ****fight of sorts. Or we could do it in Vegas in that ring IAMJAMESJACKSONSBROTHER was at a while back.

CB is maybe our weakest overall position. We have a HOFer on OL in Otto, and really amazing next guys in Searcy, McKinnie and Harrah.

Rolle was great in college and pros. We have other first round CBs, but none had a stellar nfl career. Several guys made one pro bowl, few an all pro. McNeil, Shields, McDowell, Buchanon. Starks had a good career but iirc didnt make pro bowl.

Our Safety list is absurd. Reed, Taylor, Blades, D Dub, B. Owens, Marion, Meriweather, K. Phillips, et al.

E. Edwards gets overlooked at DE, also. He had a good nfl career, 83.5 sacks, 17 fumble recoveries.

Great lines is a different topic from great linemen. Otto, McKinnie, Searcy and Harrah were great linemen. Romberg won rimmington. Rakoczy was really good. Myers has been nfl pro bowler. Linder is a solid nfl player. Best line was the ‘01 line.

I have to agree with you on CB’s. McNeil was a good player back in the day but they don’t jump out like safeties, rb’s, linebackers, dline and TE. Christ, think of all the wideouts. Strictly as a college player, Buchanan was Jimmy Walker. Sort of crazy about the DB’s, you could swing a dead cat around campus and find seven of them every year. Your Darryl Williams call brought back memories. He was a bad man. Again, we’ve had really good db’s but that is the position that does not jump out. McNeil never got thrown at, well except for some moron from SDSU and he housed it.
