Chamberlain draws from more inner city kids. I always wondered why they weren't a consistent playoff team. Was told grades and dropouts. Worst part of Tampa, Sulfur Springs, just down the street.

The best athletes from that area don't have the discipline for high school ball. I grew up with so many kids in that area that could have played football or basketball in college but they chose the hood life over school and sports. Ramik Wilson and Tyriq McCord are about the only ones I can think of that made in to college and to be honest they were average athletes compared to some of the other kids at Sligh Middle. They just had better heads on their shoulders than the others and went to Jefferson to instead of Middleton/Chamberlain.

I would also add that the lack of a true powerhouse in the city of Tampa plays a part in that as well as there is not as much interest in Tampa football as there is in the Miami area at schools like Northwestern, Central etc.

I was told a long time ago Hillsborough high kind of was the magnet for athletes in the area. Don't know how true that is or if it is still true.

How many WR’s do we take this cycle? Osborn and probably Thomas are gone. 3 sound good? Fleming, Robinson, Cooper?

Just further down the road from me. Hopefully we don’t mess up this recruitment the same way we did last year.

Kid gave the Semenholes the "old banana in the tail pipe". Said the other day that he'd be in Tally on June 8th and showed up today.
