CHESTNUT HILL -- Welcome to the 2012 college football season.

We're about 90 minutes from kickoff in Alumni Stadium and you couldn't ask for a better a better weather day in Boston. Miami can expect no advantage from early-season warm temperatures.

Some major depth chart decisions were just released:

Allen Hurns, Kendal Thompkins and Phillip Dorsett are the starting WRs.
Darius Smith is now a starter at defensive tackle, replacing Luther Robinson.
Thurston Armbrister is the starting strong side linebacker over Eddie Johnson.
Kacy Rodgers II and Deon Bush are both still listed as co-starters at safety.
Duke Johnson is the co-No. 2 running back with Eduardo Clements.

New #UM #Canes depth chart: Thomas Finnie starting corner opposite Brandon McGee. Howard behind Finnie; Gunter behind M

#UM #Canes coach Al Golden said this week he hoped LB Paul would make the trip. But no Gionni Paul (knee) at BC today.

I wanna see us outmuscle and outgrind this team. UTough.....show me baby.

Teams with superior talent and good coaching don't outgrind lesser opponents. If we win only because we outmuscle BC, its gonna be a long year. BC wins games that way because thats really the only way they can win any ACC game

Maybe Robinsons hype is legit... but Smith just did not give up and took his starter role back. Just saying...

that's how they won it last year. If things are different this year, we will not be the team being outworked this time.

Darius Smith is a good player, its not surprising that he beat out Robinson.

I'm honestly most interested in watching the corners today, this new group has so much potential. And obviously I wanna see what Duke brings us offensively. He can be a game breaker.

Pretty impressive about Deon.

I know our safeties aren't much to write home about but a lot of people were a little worried about moving him from corner.

Don't mind seeing Finnie start at all. Guy def has talent, and played well as a true FR. Good God its nice to finally have some depth.

Also Not surprised about Smith, he's also been busting it in camp, and maybe needed that last push to truly give it all. Listen we need a lot more than 2 DTs to be good, they are going to rotate a minimum of 5 throughout the game.

Smith was by far and away our best DT the second half of the season last year. He definitely can be a good one.

Paul was listed as not traveling but was on the field warming up in pads according to Susan

I like all of the changes except Thompkins

But he if has a solid senior year our receiving core could be very good

Darius smith has to start as he is our only experienced Nose Tackle with Porter out. Never thought they would start two one gap DT's with Pierre and Robinson.
