New DB Offer out in Texas - Denver Harris 2022

6'1 180lbs future 4/5-star CB out of Houston, goes to the powerhouse North Shore.

This kid is a phenomenal tackler, he really play with an aggressive nature & sticks his hat in there. Has very good football IQ, diagnoses plays quickly & immediately reacts, plays smart fast & aggressive. Has very good speed as well, no official numbers but looks legit 4.4/4.5 range.

Has very good technique, is a physical press man corner but can play off zone coverage as well, fluidity with his hips & nice footwork, understands how to disengage & get off blocks to make play on the runner. Doesn't have the ball skills yet, but he's a special naturally gifted talent. The PBU play starting @ 5:35 on his tape was impressive, he's got great recovery speed.

He's a CB that plays the run extremely well for his age, I counted 12TFL's on his highlight tape alone.

He's already got offers from Bama, LSU, UGA, Texas, Oklahoma, TAMU, Va Tech, Baylor & FSU.

Doubt we'd have a chance but I would stay on this kid for the next 2 years & hope to the high heavens we could get'em down here.

It was never posted on here but we made his top 8 last month.

And just yesterday in the 247 rankings for the 22 class he got a high 4-star 95 rating & is the #5 ranked CB in his class.

Definitely will be the longest of long shots, but he's a kid I would be on the phone with everyday if I'm DVD, Rumph & Banda, **** Coach Baker too, he's from Houston too.

They see us as NFL factory... they know we put kids in the league no matter what

I think it's deeper than that. Miami broke the mold of college football, and was brash when they did it with lots of African American dudes beating up on the Nebraskas and Oklahomas of the world. Then the Dallas kids went to be a part of it in the late 80s and early 90s. I think that stuff stuck. Just my opinion, but I think that's a big part of it. Most of these kids' dads grew up feeling UM and passed it down. Maybe a bizarre thing, but I think in general Texas folks are less likely to flip flop on allegiances and go with the hot school. That's definitely a sweeping generalization that doesn't apply to all, but compared to So Fla kids a lot of Texas folks are solid rocks of loyalty once they've got "their team".

I agree. I live in Texas myself as well and like you have been pounding the table to start at LEAST making appearances at the major D1 factory schools like in the metroplex, Houston area and stop by the Austin schools to see if they can find a QB that’s getting passed over by UT
