Ndamukong Suh was on Ryen Russillo's podcast and shared an interesting story about his Miami visit:

"I went to Miami and had the time of my life. I was in Coconut Grove, eating steaks, going to nightclubs. After I woke up Sunday morning to fly home I was like...I will not be going to school here. I'll have way too much fun. This is not the place for me."

Just thought it was interesting perspective on how all that Miami has to offer can actually work against us sometimes.

I doubt this is the way Mario sells it…this has more to do with the head coach and whats scheduled on visits
And I think that is also something said almost in jest. Had a buddy we went to undergrad at UM together and he went to Stetson for law school, he joked he would not have graduated law school at miami that he was able to skate by in undergrad while still partying but no way he could do that in law school. Now IF he went to law school in Miami I assume he would have made it work. That is not the sole reason he elected Stetson but it was an after-the-fact joke.

He would definitely have struggled in Orlando, FL then, haha.

Go Canes

I had my choice of optometry schools and one of the best is in downtown Memphis. On my interview I hit up beale st, got black out drunk and got into a host of other shenanigans. Woke up the next morning, drove to Oklahoma and wrote Memphis off the list. Ended up staying in my lane and attending Nova in Davie.

Can’t say I disagree with his decision. He made a sound choice if he felt he couldn’t trust himself with the temptation.

I wish the majority of recruits went through the decision making process similarly.

Interesting. I did not play football at UM, but did attend and graduate from the U. When I visited, I had a similar experience on my Miami Monday and that was the reason I chose the school. Seven years and a couple hundred grand later, got my degree. Ok, I might be slightly exaggerating for effect, but the party scene was definitely a positive in my assessment of the school as it sure beat the **** out of the campuses of the D2 and D3 schools that were recruiting me for football.
