So, this Julie Lach chick that was recently fired by the NCAA had a pretty short career with the NCAA when they promoted her in 2010 to such a lofty position. She was something like the NCAA's 6th VP of Enforcement and was the first female to hold that position.
Granted I don't know how talented she is, or how well she normally conducts herself, but I do see a problem. She started working for the NCAA in 1998 after she graduated from some D3 school where she played basketball. She got her law degree at night through a program Indiana offers, and only six years later gets a huge promotion.
I'm not necessarily knocking a night school law degree, but come on. The NCAA couldn't find anyone better after Emmert's smug *** promised to revamp/change/whatever the NCAA for the better? He "handpicked" her. You would think for such a lofty position they would go with a more seasoned individual. It's not like Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Cities, PNC, BoA, etc would give someone a commensurate promotion after getting their online MBA six years previously. Previously she worked in the department where they reinstate athletes. Last time I checked I never remember that department having a good reputation.
Sounds like they need to sack Emmert's dumb *** and do a much better job of hiring/promoting people.
