For those of you that are arguing that Cristobal going to Alabama was a no-brainer due to the opportunity to work under Saban I offer you this; point out to me this illustrious coaching tree. For all of Saban's achievements, his coaching tree leaves more than a lot to be desired. Jimbo Fisher, Will Muschamp, and Mike Dantonio? Excuse me if I not impressed. We had two assistants get jobs in the NFL, Alabama had an assistant go to FSU. BS reasoning for the move IMO.

What about the Miami coaching farm system? The fact that this is the third coach Saban has poached from us leaves me baffled. I would have thought given our recent success or lack thereof, this would be the last place he looks for talent.

We had some good assistants under Randy. Not their fault he couldn't run a program for ****.

Stoutland actually put together a really nice o-line when he was here.

More to do with the area and any local relationships that can be leveraged.

Don't forget Bobby Williams at MSU.

He was an absolute disaster.

Anyone attempting to give any legitimacy to Fredo's sociopathic behavior and treason is a dumb ****** who should sit in an enclosed garage with the car running.

Makes sense but how many do you really need from one area? Agree with ragingwolf that some of the assistants were actually good but we didn't know it. The board I was on at the time used to bash Pununzio and Stoutland non-stop.

I don't know anything about the money and perks, I doubt many of you do either.

I suspect the pitch was "You already know how to build a program, you did it at FIU. Now come and learn how to win a national championship, and you can write your own ticket."

Wasn't it reported today that he's making 550k at bama? That's more than what he made at Miami and that is the main reason he left along w the chance to get a ring
