In all honesty, I supported Golden and bought into "The Process" and was willing to give him a pass due to the NCAA debacle. But, at the same time I was livid at the performance of the defense and Onofrio. Then Golden flirted with PSU and went dark. Then came the press conference where he pulled stats from 2 years ago to defend the defense. I then read the Sebastian's Pub piece that was loaded with facts debunking everything that Golden said was a positive about the defense. Now, having played defense myself in my younger days it is my opinion that Golden needs to get rid of Onofrio and change his entire philosophy on defense.

I think that with the PSU interview and Golden going dark coupled with the product on the field there is a mistrust with him among the coaching community, recruits, and fanbase. All of this, in my opinion, has caused a cloud of negativity that Golden himself helped create with his loyalty to Onofrio and him interviewing for the PSU job. In my opinion Golden needs to leave because I think the damage has been done in the recruiting base and in the eyes of the fans.

With that being said I have this :neonu: Tatted on my arm and will Always support the teams and players. I will continue to go to away games since I live out of state, but it is really depressing to see this team that I am emotionally invested in remain in hard times.

Feel free to neg if you want, I don't care about negging, I am just sick and tired of the CANES being stuck in mediocrity.

Maybe I should go get me a U tattoo myself. No matter how bad it gets, gotta stick with the U and believe better times are ahead. What's the point of being a fan if we don't believe in No. 6 and more? Respect!
 
I'm not a supporter of any coach over the program. I try to look at things objectively and not lose perspective when things go badly.

Golden won't lead Miami to a national title. He is an average at best gameday coach and is unwilling or unable to change his defensive philosophy to the skill set of the athletes he has access to at Miami.

Despite the past two or so weeks, I think this is an excellent recruiting class and Golden is an above average recruiter. In my opinion, a top 5-8 type class regardless of where the rankings end up because I think recruiting sites underrate many S. FL. prospects. This class could have been elite with the addition of Cook, Rudolph, Valentine, Powell. To me, this is the true foundational type class from which Miami can use to rise back to prominence. It has the QB in Kaaya, an influx of DL talent, excellent OL talent, an elite RB, three great WRs, and two desperately needed safeties.

Unfortunately, Golden can't properly utilize this talent so it will not translate into a national title under his tenure. I think a coach like Golden would literally need Duke Johnson caliber players at almost every position to win a title and that is impractical to expect. Golden will turn out to be our Zook and the next Miami coach will come in and clean up or so I like to hope.

Golden shot himself in the foot and pluked UM while doing it. If he had any integrity, he would resign immediately.

I support the 10%ers, the guys/girls that will be at **** near every game regardless of record or how they feel about the program

I support those of you on this board who are disgruntled because it is deserved

I support the Life Long Canes who still try to make this thing work (Barrow, Kehoe even though Kehoe sucks)

Support the administration until they show any kind of commitment to making ANY KIND of forward moving advancement that makes ANY kind of sense.

It is hard for me to Support Golden at this point. Cant fire your BFF? Selling a bunch of empty promises. Flirting with your ex old lady behind the womans back you gave a commitment to. That same commitment that you are asking the recruits to buy in to. Alot have bought what has been sold, but everybody knows when you buy a lemon, word gets out..."dont go to that car dealership, they will **** you".


BUT I LOVE THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI AND I ALWAYS WILL.

Sniff - I think it's clear this fuggin guy swindled the admin, players, alumni, recruits, and fans. He clearly has no integrity whatsoever.

I still do, for now. I was upset with the way he handled the PSU speculation. I still have hope that things will improve on the field though; to me, he deserves another year or two to prove himself.

**** good post OP. Almost exactly how I feel/felt. Depressing times to be a Canes fan. Golden's seat should be hot as **** but fear the admin doesn't care to much.

I have a faint glimmer of hope that if there is a poor performance next year there will be a shake up. Admittedly I am going into next season with zero expectations of winning the Coastal or ACCCG or a descent bowl game appearance

Agree with this guy and the OP. Good post godfather.
 
I was a huge Golden supporter until two months ago.
VTech loss made me sad.
Duke loss crushed my soul.
Louisville loss made it clear that this staff can't coach.
PSU debacle disgusted me.
Defending D'Onofrio and the defense made me despise Golden.

Common Sense Speaks:
If Golden & D'Onofrio need a roster full of 5 stars to build a respectble defense, then they're not good coaches! That just means that they out-talented the opponents, not outcoached them. If you need 5 stars to beat 2 stars, then you're not really coaching.

Golden lost me when he couldn't nut up and fire Dorito...

I became a golden basher when he seems to have been all in on the PSU job until they seemed to have went with franklin..

and of course making our much needed star class to go in limbo and lose valentine possibly
