My take on scrimmage ....

* we will play 3-4 alingnment at times this season
*Morris still most learn to put air underneath his long ball
* OP is a beast but we have no quality depth behind him
* Dillard has little vision ( not a good cut-back runner )
* Duke is Duke
* WR J Cater is trying his best to break into the line-up
*Same as last season our WR will take turn dominate for game to game
But Hurns is our most steady Wide-out

The Good
*McCord will ball at his new position Rush end /LB
*Dp is have a good not great off-season
I like to see Perryman play MLB at time in different package
*WR catching the ball (this scrimmage)
*Both Crawford most improved..
* Dallas will play a lot of Slot wr this season

Our D is starting to INTIMIDATE again in the defense back field

The Bad

*Our Young Defense line are still getting push back

*Howard play on the ball ,no Howard was not burnt but didn't not play the ball
well in the air..(PS to Howard every route is not a 9 route..you most take chance as DB)

*Sonny is a project ..slow out of his stances
*DB are still have trouble attach to a player in their Zone

Defensive Line young? Don't think so. You have Chick a jr and Green, a sr, on the outside. Inside you have Porter and Robinson both sr's and Pierre a jr. Add Cain who is a sr and Grimble a jr, and there is plenty of experience..

I'm so sick of our zone defense. I think we get torched again on 3rd downs this season.

Guys sorry if my post seem negative
because the scrimmage was a good showing by the defense

YEt the offense still had its moment...Scott,Duke,Carter,Hurns,Morris,and Dallas played well

It just if we want to go 12-0 or 11 - 1 this season
these are the area which need improving ^^ Original Post

not the ceiling imo


Our Defense tackles need to be either Big/stout 300-315 or Quick in the phone booth ...

On a scale from 1 -10 this how I see our defense tackles this spring...

OP = a 7 Power and 7 some quick/speed
Porter =power 8 1/2 and Quick/speed 5 1/2
Robinson = power 6 and quick/speed 7 1/2
Grimble = power 4 1/2 and quick/speed 4 1/2
Ivery = power 5 1/2 and quick/speed 5
King = power 6 and quick/speed 5
Moore = power 5 and quick/speed 4 1/2

With the improvement of OP and Luther and the improvement of our secondary I doubt we play zone on third unless it is short yardage. With everything I have been reading about our personnel it seems more likely we pull out Chick and/or Green, use one or two rush ends, and also move someone like Bush into the slot to mix up man coverage and blitz with the rest of the secondary going man.
