Obviously [and to put it lightly] this game hurts. Adding on to that we lose Duke Johnson for the season. I don’t care whether they had more talent or whether we failed to execute, I just want another chance. I just want another opportunity at FSU this year.

Losing Duke really hampers our run game and our offense. I am sick of hearing from this board that we don’t have enough backups because not many teams can lose their playmaker and have someone step in their shoes.

Maziel goes down, TAMpon has to adjust. They don’t have Johnny number two ready to go.

Bridgewater, Winston, Tre Mason etc. etc. Teams don’t have enough of these special players, they are lucky if they have one.

Also, I am sick and tired of the people that think we over used Duke. That is not how you break bones. Perhaps if he had a muscle injury from wear and tear you could make an argument. But Duke doesn’t suffer osteoporosis, he is not an alte kaker (google it). For all those that think he was too small, that is a load of crap.

It doesn’t matter anymore, Duke is gone for the rest of the season.

So yes, Duke was our playmaker and we don’t have someone as good ready to step in and replace that production. That means we need someone to step up and carry the load. Crawford did it before against UNC. Edwards has shown some explosiveness too. We can’t abandon the run because our star is gone. Step up by committee, step up as an individual.

On offense, one more player must step up and he was smiling against FSU for some reason. Mr. Morris, this is your team. You need to step up and lead these guys. He played how we needed him to play in the first half. He moved the ball, threw good passes, no turnovers and two TDs. We’re not asking for greatness, we’re just asking him to lead. He is a senior starting QB, he still has weapons to deliver the ball too.

Lastly, we need to get pressure. Our front four need to fight harder and deliver some blows in the backfield. We could go on about blitzing or whatever, but when our players are in the position to make a play (AQM several times) we need to make a play. Please execute, take advantage of opportunities.

The season is not over, we just need a second chance. It was a bad game for many reasons, but the season is not over. We need some players to step up. Let’s go, let’s bounce back against our other ACC rival.

PMA=Positive Mental Attitude. Players need it, injuries happen in sports all the time, people step up and do the job or not. We have to believe we have capable backups, no they are not Duke, but they can play and be effective and the CANES can win if they play up to their capabilities. Do it for DUKE.

We did overwork Duke though. Dude should be getting 20 carries a game max.

But you are 100% correct in saying that had nothing to do with his injury.

the complaint at RB is that there is a HUGE, like Grand Canyon drop off in talent after Duke

no way that should be the case at Miami where RBs grow on trees.

the loss of that lacrosse playing RB really really hurts right about now.

we have no real #1 RB on the roster after Duke

Duke is almost 200 punds, you give your best player the ball when the games are on the line.

Think NCAA investigation. BTW the kids name is Alex Collins and he is tearing it up for hogs, maybe he should have listened to his mother:diaf:

Poor Alex Collins, could have been a major difference on a top club in his hometown. Listened to coach ****** and his sidekick Thanks, Randy, took the cash, and is staring at a 3 win season, cold & gloomy weather, and being a "star" for a 3rd tier club within the SEC West division. Dumbass.

I understand what you are saying but your not going to have someone as good as Duke always, even at Miami. I understand that it would be great to have another great back (Alex Collins or Player X) but we're in the middle of a season, we can't grab someone. We need to make due with what we have. We can complain about RB Depth all we want but the complaining doesn't get us anywhere, we need to make due with what we have.

Dallas Crawford, Eduardo Clemente, Gus Edwards and Mo Hagens are what we have now.

Most teams don't have a real #1 RB on the bench, there is a reason why that backup is on the bench. If the backup was as good as the #1, they would play the backup a lot more.

What can you do, it's over.

Many of you are going to see how difficult these games become without Duke.

Morris will have to step up too.
