is he the right fit for the west coast offense ? he has a cannon for an arm and can fit the ball in like a pro but has **** near zero touch .. he either throws them low or behind rcvrs

he is what he is, a mid-level d1 qb. some on here were canonizing him before the season, not on morris' production, but based on the delusional fans' hope of a miraculous season. that said, morris is the best we've got, and i do like his leadership qualities. but if you're expecting 300 yards of passing every game, be prepared for disappointment.

He's not the problem. 4th highest completion % in the conference. With a ton of drops.

I really like Morris. Wish he was a sophomore.

I'm shocked to see people nitpicking on Stephen.

Mid level is exactly right. Wouldn't start for just about all our opponents, **** sure wouldn't start for UF, FSU or even USF

I think Morris has been very accurate. I can't think of an instance this season where he's failed to make a throw that I thought could have used more "touch." He's pretty much hit everyone he's thrown at just these guys aren't catching it.

And going spread/west coast is the only option this team has right now because there isn't a pro style running back on the roster right now. Duke is perfect for the Oregon style offense Fisch is trying to implement. But they need to start leaning on him more as a runner and forget Mike James.

And why aren't we using the zone read option with Morris?

He would absolutely start for UF. Driskell is awful.

Or Mike James just needs to be used property, forget that zone read option crap and running out of the shotgun so much. Would be nice to not have to worry about our line pulling so much and just getting to maul the guy in front of them.

LOL at this thread.

Exactly how accurate do you want the guy to be? He could be hitting 80% and people would still be ****ed he isn't 90%.

Fisch needs to let him loose and do what he does best, get the ball downfield. I'm not sure why Fisch changed the offense but think Morris would be a monster in a similar offense to what we ran last year.

If Hurns can stay on the field they will he a great combo the next two years.

He isn't perfect but considering the WR situation, I think Morris has looked far far better this year than in the past. He makes some bad throws but he plays with a lot of confidence and you can see he is really starting to understand the game better.

He's playing well enough for us to be 2-0 and serious contenders in the ACC with an above-average defense.

Dont like the stare downs but he looks better than previous years.

I was a little quick to judge him there. The first game the quick passing game doesn't give much time for progressions but rewatching it, he actually progressed nicely I thought. He used his eyes and his shoulders better than I have ever seen him in the past.

I'm no QB guru but he has come a long long ways.

My biggest critique is he has held the ball too long in both games and taken sacks he needs to avoid, he should trust his legs a little more as he is pretty athletic for a QB.

the OC could help him out by running the ball more and then using more play action off that. less reliant on true freshmen WRs and more reliant on TEs who are 3rd year guys, a SR running back, and a star of a true freshman RB - oh and of course a big OL that has shown it can get physical when they have their hand in the dirt.

No he is not......he does not have a good awareness for when to check down or tuck and scramble up field.... he has all the physical gifts though and is far from the problem with this team.

WTF is spread/west coast?

Driskell beat aTm. He may be awful, but we get shut out by aTm with Morris.
