Missouri to hire Miami LB coach Derek Nicholson to same position

Miami LB coach and co-defensive coordinator Derek Nicholson will be taking the LB coach job at Missouri, as reported by ESPN's Pete Thamel.



Nicholson spent two years with the Miami Hurricanes. The defense struggled in his second season, finishing 70th in scoring defense and lagging far behind the nation's top-ranked offense. No. Good recruiter tho. He left some guys for the new coach to hopefully mold and coach up

I'd keep Taylor ONLY because his philosophy on line play didn't align with Guidry and probably didn't help

This one stings from a recruiting perspective. Let’s see how Mario and the DC fills the open positions of DL (Joe) and DBs (Guidry/Chevis).

I personally think DC/LB coach, and full time ST coach, and a Secondary coach. Still have another position to fill assuming that Jason Taylor will coach all of the DL.

My guess is JT stays because it was an open secret that he blamed Guidry and the scheme for the way his D line performed. There’s some truth to that not as much as JT would like us to believe just my opinion.
