Anybody going to this game? I'm heading up a couple days before and staying a couple days after. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for things to do around Boston and if anyone has any knowledge of the tailgate scene at BC, whether to rent a car for gameday, etc.

Yes, Definitely going! Stay in the Back Bay area .... Sheraton Back Bay is great hotel with lots of restaurants etc in the area. Hop over to Faneuil Hall (http://www.faneuilhallmarketplace.com/) area! Lots to do there! Also, check out the following two restaurants at night:
1. Silvertone Bar & Grill
69 Bromfield St
Boston, MA
617-338-7887
This is an awesome "Cheers" type local place with great food and really good prices!
2. Jerry Remy's Seaport
http://jerryremysseaport.com/
On the water and totally awesome view and location! Food is OK ..... Night life is usually pretty darn good there!

Also, for a really inexpensive PIzza joint ... Go to one of the "Crazy Dough's" (http://crazydoughs.com/). QSR type place but, absolutely the best pizza going! The owner is only about 33 yrs old and has already won the International Pizza competition two times! He must be doing something right!

Red Sox out of town then (Aug 28th thru Sept 6), unfortunately! Fenway is the most awesome park in the league to truly enjoy real baseball. In lieu of seeing a game, you should definitely do the Fenway Park tour. About 1 hour tour but, WOW .... the history alone is worth the time!!

I will be at the game too! Not sure where we will be sitting, yet. Waiting for my partner in Boston to let me know .... she is sports agent, in the area thus, should be good seats!

Anyone else going? Anyone else have any thoughts on things to do?

I will be at the game with my two boys. It's our annual father/son trip. So far we are undefeated on father/son trips. We are staying in the Back Bay as well at the W Hotel. As far as recos for food try Santarpio's or Regina's (North End location only) for pizza- best in the city. For burgers try Sully's. Also, visit Harvard square and it's environs for entertainment.

Go 'Canes!!
