2019 CB Kaiir Elam is a name to watch in south Florida for the next recruiting cycle – the four-star North Palm Beach product has had Miami on his radar for a while and there was even talk about him possibly committing to the Canes in July at Paradise Camp.

Although that did not happen, the lengthy 6-1, 175-pound cornerback is paying close attention to what’s happening down in Coral Gables.

“I love what Miami is doing and what Coach Richt is getting those guys to do and how they’re playing. Coach Mike Rumph has the corners playing great too,” he said. “I went to the Notre Dame game this year and that was really exciting to see it rock and explode like that. Miami is definitely a school I’ll be considering, but I’m just taking my time with everything right now. I love Miami’s program.”

The atmosphere at Hard Rock Stadium for that game was a major eye-opener for The Benjamin School defensive back prospect.

“I’ve been to a bunch of Dolphins games since I’m down here in south Florida and I had never seen the stadium even close to that before. That was live,” he added.

As far as his junior season is concerned, Elam was a little hard on himself despite allowing only 4 catches on his side this season.

“I feel like I did OK,” Elam said. “I think I had a way better year last year even though my junior year is supposed to be one of my best. Half of that came with not really getting to touch the ball on offense because I was getting double-teamed – and then on special teams, they wouldn’t even kick to me sometimes. Defensively, it was the same thing because they didn’t throw at me, so that affected my stats.”

“I did feel like I got way more physical shedding blocks to make tackles and I became a better leader. I think I became more of a complete corner this year – my playmaking was more on display in my sophomore season, but I improved all-around and I can only control what I can control.”

Another positive for Miami’s chances comes in the form of the “561” pipeline that has been established over the last few recruiting cycles.

“Amari Carter and Gurvan Hall are like my big brothers – we work out together and all that,” Elam said.

Very good player. Defensive-minded point guard on the basketball court just like Corn Elder and plays corner with physicality. Not afraid to get into the mix.

Wonder how high on the pecking order he is for next cycle.

I'd be cool if we got combo of The Italian. Stevenson, MAR, or Jaden Davis

This kid is the fast, athletic and physical DB with ideal size. We should no choose any DB over him per say. With Elam, Spaghetti, Stevenson, Lil Richards and Jaden Davis, I'd say first commit(s) get the available scholarships. If I were making the decision, these 3 would be primary:

1. Jaden Davis- can never have too many pure lock down corners

1a. Elam- Physical, fast and size. As often used here, SEC type.

1aa. Stevenson- Can never have too many dogs that bite. He's all football player.

1b. Sanguinetti- Very good length and speed to burn. Polished football player (?)

1c. Richards- Athletic and skilled. Position (?)

One uncle is a **** and another is a Domer and they both have rap sheets. EDIT: apparently the father is the ex-Domer.

Looks like strictly a press corner but a good one. Or a conversion safety. Both are needs for 2019 with Jackson and Redwine graduating. Saying he's "below" other DB recruits is dumb when he has an easily projectable skill set that fits the scheme and fills a need.

That's a lot of uh ohs

Next year we will be losing Johnson, Redwine, Jackson, and Dean. These guys should not be turned off from coming to the U even with the class we are bringing in this year.

Sounds like this kid is definitely feeling our Miami Hurricanes!! J. Davis, Stevenson, Sanguinetti, Richards and Elam is the type of talent Miami needs here..

Make Our Hurricanes "Miami South Florida All-Star's"

Not taking anything away from him but I find it funny he plays at Benjamin. That school is like the cream of the crop snobby private school in PBC, as in Tiger Woods sends his kids there.

Josh and Richards are Safeties (if we took Richards as a DB).
The other 3 are Corners

I know this family well. His dad does very well for himself. Abe is going to do what’s best for his son. His father is from Palm Beach and his clients are Jacoby Brissett, Teddy B, and a few more. I think there is a good chance he’s a Cane. Only person I know his pops is real cool with is Urban.
