EXPLORERS & GENERALS HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS
No matter how you look at it, Christopher Columbus and Miami Jackson are being looked at as two of the teams that many believe could be in Orlando in December.

If it happened for head coach Earl Little and his Generals, it would be the first time in decades. For Chris Merritt and his program, it would be since last year – when this program finally advanced to the state title game after a 30-plus year drought before losing to Apopka.

The Generals are very much in the conversation in a really tough district 16-5A that features Hallandale, Coconut Creek, Stranahan, Cardinal Gibbons, and, oh, two-time defending Class 5A state champion Plantation American Heritage.

The Generals are very well coached and have a lot of athletes who fly to the ball on defense while making enough plays on the offensive side of the ball. The schedule is brutal.

When talking about last year’s Explorers that lost 41 seniors from that brilliant year that nearly ended in an 8A state title, this is once again a team that has to be among the favorites to get back.

The faces are changing but the talent is very much in place – with big time play makers looming to give this storied program a huge boost. When everyone gets on the same page, you can guarantee that when this program needs to win the big game, they now understand how to do it.

I wish Bluestein were right and he was 2017 as this would give MR time to go after him and another year for him to develop as a player..

I hope you are correct as this guy will be something with another year of HS..I find it hard to go totally against Larry Blustein
Also could find no offers which seems strange for a senior like him. Small schools should be in the mix for him even if no div 1 go after him..

MedleyCane;2473646]Not sure what to think stb.

This site lists him as 2015 and 2016.
LOL.
